(PRWEB) May 22, 2004 -- One of the most significant years of American
History,1908, shaped the very way we, as a culture, are today. There was
clarity, unity, and most important admiration and it was rapidly spreading
throughout our great land. Theodore Roosevelt was President, and changes were
being made for future generations to come. Finally, Americans had closure to one
of the most important investigations in history. Who had invented the sport of
Baseball?
Around the League: In 1908, the National League President
A.G.Mills declared Abner Doubleday invented the sport of baseball in
Cooperstown, New York in 1839, despite overwhelming evidence proving otherwise.
Most importantly, in 1908, the sensational Billy Murry hit the charts with “Take
Me Out to the Ball Game”, and our lives have never been the same.
But it
is what took place in the quiet, plush hills of West Virginia that will forever
change the way we spend one important day of the year. In a modest chapel filled
with families, on the third Sunday of June in 1908, Dr. Robert Webb conducted
what is believed to be the first Father’s Day service. This service took place
at the Central Church of Fairmont, and aided in the evolution of an idea, which
eventually lead to a Presidential Proclamation of National Father’s
Day.
What better way to celebrate, Father’s Day, than to commemorate it
all with MamaBebe’s, “First Pitch TM” babies first hand print baseball. Have
time stand still and commemorate your child with their hand print incased on a
baseball and displayed with the rest of your family’s “Hall of Fame” keepsakes.
An heirloom for any occasion which so beautifully depicts past, present and
future.
