New York City, NY (PRWEB) June 28, 2004 -- Phoenix Fitness Club in the heart
of Chelsea is the first health club in New York City to offer the latest
technological advancement in health and fitness. The VibroGym is a rapidly
vibrating platform on which exercises are performed. This "space age" equipment
(used by the Soviet Cosmonauts) is now also used by Olympic and professional
athletes.
The VibroGym (formerly Power Plate) generates vibrations that
are transferred from the platform to the body. Standing on the VibroGym makes
the body automatically adjust to these mechanical stimuli. Muscles will contract
and expand 30 to 50 times per second, depending on vibration
selected.
The additional muscle contraction expedites fat loss while
increasing bone density and muscle tone. Compared to traditional training
methods, exercises performed on the VibroGym achieve better results in less time
and with no extra effort.
Moreover, the vibrations increase the
production of regenerative and repair hormones, improve blood circulation in
skin and muscles, strengthen bone tissue, improve lymph drainage, and increase
the basal metabolic rate. All this results in more strength, more speed, and
more stamina, as well as rapid recovery of muscles and tissue, increased
flexibility, mobility and coordination, anti-cellulitis, collagen improvement,
and fat reduction. The VibroGym offers a wide range of possibilities for use in
the areas of Sports, Fitness, Beauty, Health and Rehabilitation.
"The
exercise benefits that patients can gain with this device can increase the scope
of rehabilitative medicine. It has possibilities, for example, for use in
cardiac rehabilitation patients."
John Gianutsos, Ph.D.
Director of
the Manhattan Project for the Restoration of Motor Function Rusk Institute of
the NYU School of Medicine
"I have found the Power Plate to deliver the
essence of plyometric training in a safe and effective manner for both training
and rehabilitation. The results have been predictable and directly related to
the research. Our athletes have experienced strength gains, reactivity increases
and increases in range of motion."
Donald Chu, Ph.D.
Director,
Athletic Training & Rehabilitation Stanford University
President,
California State Board of Physical Therapy
"As a 13-year veteran, I'm no
stranger to the nagging injuries and overall physical toll that a 162-game
season takes on your body, and to that point, the Power Plate has been a godsend
in preventing injury and keeping me on the field. Not only is it enhancing my
performance capability in this latter part of my career, but it's also providing
me a tool I’ll use to maintain my flexibility, muscle strength and overall
mobility throughout my life beyond baseball."
Eric Karros, Professional
Baseball Player and Los Angeles Dodgers all-time home run leader
