Brazilian Immigration Expert to Speak at Conference
José Inácio Werneck, Brazilian journalist and author, will speak at the National Conference on Brazilian Immigration to the United States on Friday, March 18th. Werneck is an expert on Brazilian Immitration to the United States and author of the recent Com esperança no coração: os imigrantes brasileiros nos Estados Unidos (With Hope in Their Heart: Brazilian Immigrants in the United States).
(PRWEB) March 13, 2005 -- José Inácio Werneck, Brazilian journalist and
author, will speak at the National Conference on Brazilian Immigration to the
United States on Friday, March 18th. Werneck is an expert on Brazilian
Immitration to the United States and author of the recent Com esperança no
coração: os imigrantes brasileiros nos Estados Unidos (With Hope in Their Heart:
Brazilian Immigrants in the United States). He will also chair the session of
the conference in which he will speak.
Mr. Werneck’s session begins at
3:10 pm on March 18th in room 103 of Boylston Hall on Harvard University’s
campus. The other speakers in the same session will discuss the psychological
aspects of immigration and the contributions of Brazilian immigrants to North
American culture.
The National Conference on Brazilian Immigration to the
United States is co-sponsored by Harvard’s Department of Romance Languages &
Literatures and the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies. Mr.
Werneck’s session is the first of the conference, which concludes Saturday,
March 19th after more than 20 sessions and more than 60 presentations.
Registration at the door is $30.00, which gives attendees a certificate in

highly respected Brazilian journalists, José Inácio Werneck is a commentator for
ESPN International as well as a foreign correspondent for several Brazilian
publications from his base in Connecticut. His second book, a novel entitled
Sabor de Mar (Taste of the Sea), will be published this year. Com esperança no
