Tallahassee, FL (PRWEB) March 30, 2005 -- Patrick Slevin announced today that
the Florida Insurance Council and The Slevin Group are one of 100 finalists
selected from more than 650 entries in the 2005 Public Relations Society of
America Silver Anvil Awards. Chosen from these finalists, the Silver Anvil and
the Award of Excellence winners will be announced on June 9, 2005, at the Silver
Anvil Celebration Event in New York City.
“Receiving national
recognition as a finalist for a Silver Anvil Award is very gratifying and
validates the work we accomplished during the unprecedented hurricane crisis
last year. It was an A-Team effort comprised of FIC staff, members, national
trade associations, and The Slevin Group,” said Sam Miller, executive vice
president of the Florida Insurance Council. “Winning a Silver Anvil Award will
be a testament to professionals dedicated to serving Floridians during times of
crisis and we hope we do not have to repeat such an endeavor in the
future.”
The Slevin Group, a public relations consulting firm, submitted
its entry titled, Managing Crisis in the Perfect Storm: Florida’s 2004 Hurricane
Season, to the PRSA Silver Anvil Awards committee. The firm’s founder and
president thanked the Florida Insurance Council for the opportunity to
serve.
“The Slevin Group works at the pleasure of our clients who entrust
us with their reputation and image as we engage the public. Our success would
not have happened without FIC’s leadership, knowledge, and courage in facing an
unprecedented series of events in Florida,” said Patrick Slevin, founder and
president of The Slevin Group. “Gaining national recognition for our crisis
communications work is ennobling and validates our firm’s philosophy that strong
relationships with our clients make a measurable difference in the quality of
our performance and work product.”
According to PRSA, the Silver Anvil
Awards program has grown in scope and stature since its inception in 1946, and
