Full Sail’s Future Filmmaker Program Returns to Florida Film Festival
The Future Filmmaker program, taking place on Full Sail's campus during the Florida Film Festival, will feature a presentation from a visiting filmmaker, courtesy of the Festival, as well as a tour of Full Sail's soundstages and film facilities.
(PRWEB) April 8, 2005 -- For the second year in a row, Full Sail Real World
Education will be hosting the Future Filmmaker program in conjunction with the
Florida Film Festival. The three-day event will take place on Full Sail’s Winter
Park, Florida campus during the festival, from April 13 to 15, and will see
nearly 200 students from local high schools visit Full Sail to participate in
the program.
Designed and produced by Full Sail’s Film staff and High
School Outreach department, the Future Filmmaker Program provides high school
students with the opportunity to learn about the filmmaking process from
established industry artists. Independent filmmakers from the Florida Film
Festival visit Full Sail’s campus to discuss the filmmaking process, including
their inspiration and methods. Following their presentation, the filmmakers give
students a chance to ask their own questions via an in-depth Q&A session.
Chuck Weiss, Director of Full Sail’s High School Outreach department,
explains the benefits of the program. “Students can learn about the process,”
says Weiss, “what it takes to become a filmmaker and the passion that is
necessary to succeed in the industry.” Students from five local high schools –
Edgewater High School, Mulberry High School, Pine Ridge High School, Olympia
High School, and Lake Brantley High School – will be participating in the Future
Filmmaker program this year.
During their time on campus, participants
also get the opportunity to explore the soundstages and postproduction
facilities where Full Sail Film students create their films. During the tour,
students will be introduced to the intricate workings of the film production
process. “The Full Sail campus is the perfect place for aspiring filmmakers to
get a look at the different positions and gear that make up a film shoot,” says
Weiss.
Full Sail’s Future Filmmaker program will offer two separate
sessions per day at the following times, each with a maximum of 50
students:
Morning Session: 9:00am – 10:30am
Afternoon Session: 11:00am –
12:30am
