What’s New for 2005:
A New Name: After 26 years, the
festival's name has changed from “The Health & Harmony Music and Arts
Festival” to simply, “The Harmony Festival,” a name that encompasses all aspects
of the leading-edge progressive cultural trends that the Harmony Festival
represents.
A New Design: The entire main field layout has been
redesigned and improved, becoming much more attractive and user friendly. The
five major attractions of the main field –– Eco-Village, Healing Sanctuary,
Goddess Temple, Global Bazaar, and Crafters Village -- have all been redesigned
with unique identity and look of their own. The straight rows, replaced by
curves and turns that allow festival attendees to wander through each distinct
area as its own separate “village.”
New expanded programming: Harmony
After Dark: For the first time, the event will stay open late on Saturday night
with extended night-time programming in three separate venues, allowing for the
celebration to continue until 2am.
New Foods of the Earth Expo: Hosted in
an indoor expo hall, the Foods of the Earth Expo includes more than 30 organic
and natural food exhibits showcasing the industry leaders in the rapidly
expanding natural and healthy foods area. The expo specializes in helping
companies promote their products through sampling, special introductory offers
and onsite presentations to enable children and adults better education on
healthier food choices. The expo also promotes local community outreach for
these products and services.
New “Putumayo World Playground” Kids Zone:
To further family outreach programming, the Harmony Festival is proud to partner
with friends at Putumayo Records in creating this new children’s attraction.
This area has a live performance stage featuring Putumayo musicians, performance
artists, a puppet theater and a variety of activities from toddlers to teens.
Kids 12 and under get in free, and this year, there will be special “teen
