Nextlife Recycling Announces Its Newest Alliance Partner, Wisconsin Film and Bag
Recycling alliance gains momentum in gaining new customers and attracting strategic alliance partners to address environmental issues.
Delray Beach, Florida (PRWEB) June 10, 2005 -- NextLife Recycling, the
recycling alliance formed by industry leaders and manufacturers of disposable
plastic film products, such as stretch wrap and grocery bags, has announced that
it has added Wisconsin Film and Bag (WIFB) of Shawano, Wis., as its newest
alliance partner.
WIFB joins other leading manufacturers of disposable
packaging products such as Sigma Stretch Film, Vanguard Plastics, and Advance
Polybag in recognizing NextLife as the best resource and alternative to
recycling plastic film waste. The NextLife Recycling Alliance provides plastic
film waste generators with a long-term, consistent market for their film waste
with unique benefits including a guaranteed market for the material, “fixed
floor, open ceiling pricing” to alleviate market and price risk from recyclers,
and the convenience and economic benefit of loading multiple types of
recyclables on a single trailer.
The objective of the NextLife Recycling
Alliance is to recycle, versus dispose of, used stretch film, grocery bags and
other recyclable materials from the marketplace. The program aims to recover
millions of pounds of stretch film and plastic bags each year, which may have
otherwise filled our landfills. The Alliance, through its recycling partners
such as Sun Valley Worldwide and Mountain Valley Recycling, convert plastic
films into recycle grade resins which are sold into a diverse market of
manufacturers to produce new durable products using the recycled content. This
approach provides waste generators with a long-term, consistent market for their
recyclables by reducing adverse market dynamics such as seasonality and product
demand fluctuations, which are often associated with a single-product
manufacturer, such as composite lumber.
Jack Riopelle, President of
Wisconsin Film and Bag and the incoming President of the Film and Bag
Federation, the voice of the film and bag industry, explains the significance
the NextLife Recycling Alliance will have on the future of film and bag
recycling. “I have a keen understanding of the impact of film and bags on our
environment. The goal of WIFB in joining NextLife is to promote the NextLife
Recycling solution so that our industry can experience similar diversion rates
to those of cardboard and metals. Until now, the market for recovered films has
been largely limited to plastic lumber and export markets. This has served the
industry well; however, long-term we will need new and diversified markets in
order to achieve higher recycling rates. The diversified market approach of
NextLife provides the best opportunity for our industry to expand its recovery
rates.”
Daniel Schrager, President of Sun Valley Worldwide, the founding
company of NextLife Recycling, discusses the impact of WIFB’s addition to the
NextLife™ alliance. “We are enthusiastic about Wisconsin Film & Bag joining
our Alliance. We continue to attract the industry’s leaders to our Alliance.
This confirms the importance of the film and bag industries to identify new,
alternative recycling solutions for their industries. We are confident that new
technology, superior resin quality, and our proven, diversified market approach
to film and bag recycling is the best long-term solution. We are currently
working with other manufacturers of disposable plastic film products and expect
that this trend will continue.”
