Diva Glam Full-Figure Fashion Soiree: Featuring the Big Boys of the NFL
Shauna Tisdale, CEO of Diva Glam, introduces full-figure fashion to Houston, Texas. The Diva Glam Full-Figure Fashion Soiree features plus-sized fashion models and star players from the NFL in a fashion show at the Pavilion in Houston, TX.
(PRWEB) June 4, 2005 -- Shauna Tisdale, CEO of Diva Glam, launches its highly
anticipated 2005 season with a gala star-studded fashion show at The Pavilion at
1800 Post Oak Blvd. in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, June 25th. Presenting
fabulous fashions for the full-figured woman is what Diva Glam is all about.
Diva Glam speaks to real women – not the fantasy images often portrayed by
Seventh Avenue. Who says, “Thin is in,” when sixty percent of the women in
America are a size 14 or over? Not Diva Glam. In fact, they’re breaking all the
fashion rules for full-figured females.
The Diva Glam tour showcases the
style, glamour and elegance of full-figure fashion models. When you see the
show, you will have a deeper appreciation and knowledge of the fashion options
available for full-figure women. Co-Hosted by Walter Greene (Fashion Editor,
Sister 2 Sister Magazine), DJ Nnete (97.9 The Box) and Robaire Smith(Houston
Texans), the evening begins with a VIP Cocktail Reception at 8:30 PM and the
Fashion Show at 10 PM. Following the show, Diva Glam will host a trunk show
featuring exclusive full-figure fashions.
Diva Glam has a team of fashion
professionals who work hard to make each show fabulous. Only top designers are
featured - designers who understand that the fashion statement this and every
season for the full-figured woman is style and affordability. Diva Glam will
present collections from DG Couture by celebrity fashion designer Malcolm
Harris, Courtney Washington, CISCO and Diva Glam Sport by Shauna Tisdale. “We
run a tight operation” said Shauna, “our models are just as polished as the
standard-sized runway models. The majority of American women are over a size 8
and yet the fashion industry has not fully embraced this market, which is such a
lucrative part of the fashion business.”
The Big Boys of the NFL are also
lending their time to support Diva Glam and will be modeling looks by Phat Farm,
Rocawear, Sean John and Akademiks. Chris Claiborne of the St. Louis Rams, Bryant
McKinnie of the Minnesota Vikings, Shaun Rogers of the Detroit Lions, Robaire
Smith of the Houston Texans, Andre Gurode of the Dallas Cowboys, Casey Hampton
of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Shawn Andrews of the Philadelphia Eagles, Hollis
Thomas of the Philadelphia Eagles and Marcus Stroud of the Jacksonville Jaguars
will all be on hand to add a little something extra to the show for the ladies
in the audience to appreciate.
Diva Glam Inc. is the brainchild of Shauna
Tisdale, who has worked as a celebrity fashion stylist and costume designer for
nine years. Shauna partnered with Kaseem Johnson who owns the Grand Entrance
Salon in New Jersey where he trains a team of real size, full-figured models to
strut the catwalk. Diva Glam Fashion & Trunk Tour travels throughout the
United States and will be hitting Atlanta, Dallas and Detroit in the near
future. “Your size, like your age, is just a number, says Shauna. “At Diva Glam
women are defined by attitude. And we’re empowering women at every show to
present a proud and positive image for plus sized women.”
Tickets are $50
and can be purchased at the door or in advance at Melodrama Boutique – 5306
Almeda, Houston, TX - (713) 523.1608. A portion of the proceeds will be donated
to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, in honor of Patricia Tisdale
(Shauna’s Mother) who passed away of Breast Cancer in 1995.
The show is
sponsored by Texas Accelaration & Sports Training, Prescriptive Cosmetics,
