Vintage Memorabilia Madness comes to the sports collectibles
industry AGAIN as NAXCOM.com, the leading sports collectibles online marketplace
introduces the NAXCOM.com Vintage Invitational 2 (VI:2), presented by PSA, Old
Cardboard and MJ Roop Archivers. The 32-competitor tournament, will pit the top
dealers of vintage sports memorabilia against each other in a double-elimination
sales competition from June 6 through early February 2006 with a grand prize of
$10,000 and $2,500 going to the second place finisher, $500 each to the third
and fourth place finishers. Plus, a $1,000 prize to the Buyer who purchases the
most during the contest.
The NAXCOM.COM Vintage Invitational leverages
the renewed interest in the memorabilia of yesterday’s sports legends. While
dealers rack up sales, it will be collectors that truly benefit as hundreds of
items each week will be "priced to move” by the competing dealers looking to
advance to the next round and a chance to win $10,000. Last years inaugural
Vintage Invitational was a huge success with Memory Lane Inc. narrowly defeating
McAvoy Sportcards in the finals. This year is poised to be even better as it
boasts the best Vintage dealer line-up ever and each of them out to dethrone
Memory Lane, Inc. and win $10,000.
“There has never been anything like
the Vintage Invitational in this industry,” noted Eric Beckerman, CEO of
NAXCOM.com. “Last year was a huge success and this year is poised to be even
better. It has clearly established NAXCOM.com as the place to go for vintage
sports memorabilia. And, it’s great for collectors because of the massive amount
of highly sought after material priced to sell.”
“PSA is proud to
support this exciting contest again and to lend its name to the innovative ideas
NAXCOM is bringing to the industry,” said Joe Orlando, PSA President. “This
competition will serve Vintage collectors by igniting interest in the great
items being offered, will get them used to going to the NAXCOM site, and will
open the doors for dealers to reach new customers. In that sense, the industry
is well served, and PSA is pleased to be a part of it.”
