ZFOOTBALL Champion Rashied Davis Signs with the Chicago Bears
Former San Jose State and San Jose Sabercat standout was a member of the San Jose Violators, who won the Elite Division at the 2004 San Jose Event.
San Jose, Calif. (PRWEB) August 4, 2005 -- The Chicago Bears have signed
cornerback Rashied Davis to a three-year deal. Terms of the deal were not
disclosed.
The 5-10, 180 pound cornerback spent the past three seasons
in the Arena Football League playing for the San Jose Sabercats. Davis played in
all 16 of San Jose's games in 2004, earning All-Ironman Team honors as a
receiver/defensive back. He led the league in kickoff returns with a 24.1-yard
average and topped San Jose with 1,795 all-purpose yards. He also ranked third
on his team with 44 tackles and tied for second with three interceptions.
In addition to being a stand-out player with the San Jose Sabercats,
Davis was a member of the 2004 San Jose ZFOOTBALL Men's Elite division
champions, the Violators.
Rashied attended John F. Kennedy High School
in Granada Hills, California -- where he did not play football. He played his
first snap of organized football at West Los Angeles Community College. Rashied
went on to play at San Jose State University, playing wide receiver and
defensive back, and leading the Spartans in touchdown receptions in his junior
year.
