Singh, Jacobsen, Leonard and More in Caddy for A Cure at Barclays
Caddy For A Cure offers the opportunity to caddie for a day in a PGA Tour practice round. Bid through eBay to caddie for Vijay Singh, Peter Jacobsen, Lee Janzen, Justin Leonard or Alex Cjeka and help contribute to a cure!
Coral Springs, FL (PRWEB) June 1, 2005 -- Caddy For A Cure, Inc., a 501(c)(3)
Not For Profit Corporation, continues the charitable "Giving-back" mission of
the PGA Tour while making lasting memories for its participants. Testimonies
such as "Absolutely fantastic experience" and "It was better than any Pro Am
I've ever played in" and best of all, "Thank you. I'll definitely do it again!"
continue to roll in from participants.
The CFAC program offers the
opportunity to caddy for a Tour Player in a practice round of a PGA Tour event.
Tour players include worldwide favorites such as 2005 Colonial champion Kenny
Perry, Stuart Appleby, Sergio Garcia, Fred Funk, Bernhard Langer, Stewart Cink
and more. CFAC is getting ready to kick-off another exciting opportunity for the
Barclay's Classic at Westchester Country Club in New York. "It just keeps
getting better and better" says CFAC CEO and veteran PGA Tour caddie Russ
Holden. "The Barclay's should appeal to everyone who enjoys professional golf
and who would like to see what it's like to be "inside the ropes". We have an
unbelievable lineup of players available for this one - World's #1 player Vijay
Singh, Peter Jacobsen, Justin Leonard, Lee Janzen and Alex Cjeka. It doesn't get
more exciting in golf than being ‘one-on-one’ with any one of these
guys!"
One of the best aspects of the CFAC program is that 100% of the
proceeds donated through the auctions are given to charity. The concept for CFAC
has been a 10+ year brainstorming process for Holden. It evolved from a
heartfelt desire and subsequent commitment to find a way to raise awareness and
generate money for a genetic disease called Fanconi Anemia (FA). Holden became
familiar with FA when it afflicted two children of one of his closest friends.
FA is an inherited anemia that leads to bone marrow failure (aplastic anemia)
and that can affect all systems of the body. In addition to the Fanconi Anemia
Research Fund, contributions are split equally between three other charities:
The participating Tour Player's charity, the Host Tournament's charity and the
PGA Tour Caddie Benevolent Fund.
"Caddie" opportunities are offered
through eBay Caddy For A Cure auctions. CFAC auctions are listed on eBay.com in
conjunction with MissionFish.com where the proceeds are designated as charitable
donations. In addition to the auctions, MissionFish.com offers the opportunity
to make donations directly to Caddy For A Cure.
The next upcoming CFAC
event is the Barclay's Classic tournament at Westchester Country Club (NY). The
Barclay's auction will open Wednesday June 1st and will run for 10 days, closing
Saturday June 11th. The Barclay's tournament will be followed by the John Deere
Classic in Silvis, IL on July 5th.
