Children's Healthcare Foundation Golf Classic Tees Off for 20th Year at Little Mill Country Club with Celebrities & Record Registration
Twenty years ago, a group of concerned parents organized a small but successful golf outing to raise start-up funds for what would later become the Children’s Healthcare Foundation of South Jersey (CHF). On Monday, June 13, 2005, the CHF and host sponsor Commerce Bank present the “20th Anniversary Golf Classic for SJ’s Children,” at Little Mill Country Club, in Marlton, NJ. The classic has contributed to the nearly $500,000 the CHF has awarded to South Jersey’s children, and this year it has already has raised a record amount. Activities this year include celebrity appearances by the Sixers Dancers, Comcast SportsNet’s anchor and sports reporter Lance Crawford, free on-course massage, a Mercedes-Benz contest, a $10,000 cash prize, and more.

organized a small but successful golf outing to raise start-up funds for what
would later become the Children’s Healthcare Foundation of South Jersey (CHF).
On Monday, June 13, 2005, the CHF and host sponsor Commerce Bank present the
“20th Anniversary Golf Classic for SJ’s Children,” at Little Mill Country Club,
in Marlton, NJ. The classic has contributed to the nearly $500,000 the CHF has
awarded to South Jersey’s children, and this year it has already has raised a
record amount. Activities this year include celebrity appearances by the Sixers
Dancers, Comcast SportsNet’s anchor and sports reporter Lance Crawford, free
on-course massage, a Mercedes-Benz contest, a $10,000 cash prize, and more.
“Delaware Valley golfers have helped us raised hundreds of thousands of
dollars to create a bright, healthy future for our most precious, and fragile,
resource – our children,” said Executive Director Kory Michael Aversa. “The
‘Golf Classic’ provides an excellent opportunity to experience a challenging,
private course, network with top movers and shakers, and win tens of thousands
of dollars in prizes!”
Registration begins at 11am, lunch at 11:30am,
shot-gun start at 12:30pm, cocktail hour at 5pm and dinner at 6pm. Golf
registration of $275 includes green/ cart fees, lunch, course refreshments,
cocktail hour, open bar, welcome gifts, all gratuities, prime rib of beef or
Chilean sea bass dinner and more. Sponsorships packages begin at $200.
Dinner-only tickets are $90. Lunch-only tickets are $35.
Outing
activities include an automobile hole-in-one contest is being sponsored by
Mercedes-Benz of West Chester. A $10,000 hole-in-one contest is being sponsored
by the Insurance Office of America. Lois David-Corbi, PT will provide sports
massage between lunch and dinner. Pictures will be taken with the Sixers Dancers
during the cocktail hour and dinner. Comcast SportsNet and anchor Lance Crawford
will be on hand during the classic to meet and thank golfers.
The
mission of the CHF is to sponsor programs and services that benefit the health,
development and other needs of South Jersey’s children, as well as advancing and
supporting South Jersey health facilities, research and resources. Recently, the
CHF awarded a $6,250 grant to the Pediatric Healthcare Outreach Clinic in
association with Cooper University Hospital, and $6,000 to Camden Eye Center for
the Sight First for Kids program.
The “20th Anniversary Golf Classic” is
presented by the CHF, with support from host sponsor Commerce Bank. Supporting
sponsors include the Linda M. and Peter M. Musumeci Jr. Foundation, the
Children's Regional Hospital at Cooper University Hospital, Voorhees Pediatric
Facility and Weisman Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital.
