Las Vegas Radio Host Canned as Blogger
Blog Beleaguered! Blogging is not all fun and games at LasVegasGolf.com. In an unusual case, a blogger has been dismissed by the publication.
(PRWEB) April 22, 2005 -- It's not easy being a blogger. Las Vegas radio talk
show host Dennis Silvers loves gabbing on the air and blogging about Annika
Sorenstam, the PGA, the LPGA and golf in general. Everything, that is, but Las
Vegas Golf.
In tomorrow's issue of LasVegasGolf.com, Silvers is the
subject of "Blog Beleagured: Bloggers terminate Las Vegas Golf Guru, aka Dennis
Silvers, over 'Walters-Gate'".
Silvers claims to be a controversial talk
show host who "calls it like it is". He has advertised himself as a blogger and
talk show host who "has the guts" to tell Las Vegas golfers the "bogeys from the
birdies". Silvers has chimed in questioning Sorenstram's marriage and sexuality
as well as criticizing the LPGA.
But Silvers has refused to comment on a
recent series of controversial articles regarding the courses and business
dealings of Walters Golf, citing, "I do business with these
people."
"Yes, bloggers can be terminated," said Managing Editor Mark
Nessmith. "If you are not straight with readers, they will see throught it. You
can hide behind a microphone, but as Dan Rather found out, it is hard to hide
from bloggers."
