Par for the Cause - It’s Beyond Golfing

With August being the top month for vacation, what better time to have a charity golf event.

New York, NY August 8, 2005 -- Families are the largest and fastest growing segment of the homeless population. New York City officials report a record of 6,252 families with a total of 20,655 members are lodging nightly in city shelters, with rapid increase. There were record levels of homelessness in New York after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

An innovative non-profit program called W.O.W.S.E (With Or Without Someone Else), is working to provide grants and financial support to aid in the positive growth of children and homeless families in the New York tri state area.

To aid those families involved in the program, WO.W.S.E in conjunction with Blueliner Marketing will sponsor a charity golf outing on Monday, August 15th. The event will begin at 1pm at the Latourette Golf Course, located in Staten Island's beautiful Greenbelt. Latourette is one of the oldest courses in NYC, and it receives the most play of any course in the city.

The charity golf outing is $150 per person (tax deductible) and will include 18-holes of golf, a cart, food, drinks and prizes. Registration for the event is due by Saturday, August 13th.

The W.O.W.S.E. Foundation was the brainchild of Brian Rice, CEO of New Jersey based direct marketing firm (http://www.redclaymedia.com). Brian and several of his business and social peers wanted to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children through implementing local fundraisers. One of the biggest success stories that W.O.W.S.E has experienced was on Thanksgiving in 2004, when they managed to feed over 10,000 families at the Bowery mission and other NYC kitchens.

A percentage of the proceeds of the charity golf outing will go to the W.O.W.S.E Foundation to help provide food for families in need during the holiday season.

Participants of the golf tournament will be able to enjoy a family friendly BBQ dinner following the round of 18-hole golf.
