Revolutionary Golf Instruction Center to Open in Wexford July 30
Live radio broadcast and giveaways will highlight GolfTEC's grand opening celebration.
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) July 27, 2005 -- The ultimate golf lesson experience
is coming to Wexford.
GolfTEC, a nationally known golf instruction
company that combines traditional lessons with next generation teaching tools –
including a patented blend of digital video, motion analysis, launch analysis
and biofeedback technology – is opening a location on Route 19 in Wexford Plaza
next to Festival Foods.
GolfTEC will celebrate the grand opening of its
Wexford location on Saturday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will
feature a special live edition of the popular Fox Sports 970 “The Gerry Dulac
Show,” hosted by Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette sports writer, and
attendees can register to win prizes like: four full-week passes to the 84
Lumber Classic, two $100 Home Depot gift cards, a hat autographed by LPGA player
Natalie Gulbis and a GolfTEC party for 10.
The GolfTEC Learning Center
in Wexford will be the only one of its kind in the Pittsburgh area and only the
second in the Northeast. During GolfTEC lessons, golfers wear sensors that
measure their swing, comparing it against a database of more than 150 PGA
professionals, allowing the instructor to scientifically analyze and help
improve a player's mechanics.
GolfTEC's motion-analysis equipment
measures what can't be seen with the human eye or even the most sophisticated
video. In addition, biofeedback tones (beeps) are set to help a player select
better swing movements. GolfTEC's staff of PGA Teaching Professionals works to
develop “muscle memory” to help players get the most from their improved skills.
All of this information is converted into a “WebLesson” which the student can
access online any time to review the techniques. Clients also use video
technology during practice sessions, dramatically increasing the effectiveness
of practice time.
“I am very excited about this opportunity to bring
GolfTEC to my hometown,” said Jeff Brier, PGA Teaching Professional and owner of
the Wexford store. “Over the past decade, GolfTEC's state-of-the-art technology
combined with instruction from our PGA Teaching Professionals has helped
thousands of clients to improve their games. I'm looking forward to helping
Pittsburgh's many dedicated golfers of all ages and ability levels bring their
games to the next level.”
Brier, a Greensburg native, previously worked
for GolfTEC as an instructor, assistant manager and mentor for new employees at
the company's locations in Chicago and Denver. He played golf as a junior in
Western Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State's Professional Golf
Management Program.
Assisting Brier with GolfTEC's high-tech instruction
will be Tim Nypaver, a PGA Teaching Professional originally from Fox Chapel. The
Thiel College graduate began working at the Fox Chapel Country Club in high
school and worked his way to the position of first assistant before joining
GolfTEC
The Wexford GolfTEC Learning Center will be open from 8 a.m. to
6 p.m. Monday and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and
from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The initial one-hour evaluation is
$165 or $95 when combined with the purchase of a multi-lesson package. An
individual 30-minute session is $85, but clients benefit more from a variety of
lesson and practice packages, which brings the lesson cost down to the $40 - $60
range. For more information on pricing at the Wexford location visit GolfTEC on
