Exhibition Hockey League Soon to Launch

The Exhibition Hockey League is creating a relief for hockey fans by launching a new league providing players with an option during the current work stoppage. Play will begin in up to 14 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada for a 34 game schedule, as well as an All-Star game and playoffs for the EHL Championship Cup.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 4, 2004 -- The Exhibition Hockey League is an exciting new venture. Play will take place in 14 major cities throughout the United States and Canada, utilizing players who are currently affected by the work stoppage.

"This is an exciting opportunity for hockey fans everywhere who are seeking relief to the shutdown of their sport" says EHL Commissioner Stephen Rollins. "We're giving players a place to play and keep their skills sharp while providing the fans the opportunity to enjoy the game that they love so much."

The Exhibition Hockey League is looking to immediately begin play in 14 major market cities throughout the United States and Canada. The season will consist of a 34 game schedule for each team, as well as a playoff and championship series (provided lockout is still in effect). Efforts to secure national and regional television support as well as radio contracts have already begun.

Along with becoming an entertaining entity, the EHL has two major objectives:
1. Bring a quality fun hockey experience to fans in order to maintain their interest during the current lockout.
2. Generate productive revenues to be donated to local charities based in the home city of each team.

The league will only exist while there is a work stoppage. We are in no way trying to compete with the NHL because we realize nothing could or would ever replace the history, heritage, and excitement of our sports premier league. This endeavor is simply for the fans.

The official introductory press conference for media will take place in the upcoming days. For more information, please contact the media relations department at (310)678-6011 or visit www.exhibitionhockeyleague.com
