Homeschool Mom Develops Fun Cooking Curriculum
Homeschool Mom of three, Laura Bankton, released her new package "Homeschool Cookbook in a Box" allowing families to learn spelling, reading, math, and vocabulary through family bonding time.
Anchorage, AK (PRWEB) June 15, 2004 -- It all started by accident. Three kids
loved to cook and begged their Mom, Laura Bankston, to do more of it. What
resulted was a great time of family fun that included homeschool
learning.
For example, when they were making ice cream, they studied the
properties of rock salt and how the salt made things freeze faster. And when
they made rock candy, they learned about the formation of crystals.
When
Bankston's friends found out about this method of teaching, they just had to
have it.
Bankston compiled everything into a kid friendly recipe book
that uses simple instructions for early readers.
Bankston says, "The
kids really love this book because the step by step photos show them exactly
what to do. They get to do it on their own, and the questions that they ask
while cooking are just amazing learning opportunities."
The "Homeschool
Cooking in a Box" and "Homeschool Cookbook on CD" are now avaiable to the public
at http:/www.homeschoolcookbook.com .
