Woodpigeon, the Ultimate Sporting Bird?

Anglia Sporting is pleased to offer some of the finest pigeon decoying in East Anglia. Woodpigeon shooting offers better value for money than traditional game or wild bird shooting.

(PRWEB) July 18, 2005 -- Woodpigeon shooting; decoying and flighting, are in our opinion undervalued and certainly under priced as a shooting sport. The Woodpigeon is the ultimate sporting quarry, offering a testing and demanding day's sport. Think Pheasant shooting, think Partridge shooting, think wild bird shooting such as Grouse, Woodcock, Snipe, Ducks and Geese, the Woodpigeon is all these, a true aerial acrobat. Not only testing shooting skills but field craft and knowledge as well.

Anglia Sporting is pleased to offer some of the finest pigeon decoying in East Anglia. Woodpigeon shooting offers better value for money than traditional game or wild bird shooting. Consider this…

A single, shot partridge may cost in excess of £18 - £20
A pheasant is likely to cost anywhere between £18 - £35
Wild Geese or Duck about £15 - £20
Woodcock around £40 - £50
Grouse - well let's not go there!

Shoot a bag of say 15 pigeons in a day; you'll have had some excellent sport and yet spend around £5 per bird and no additional charges for those 'red letter days'. Reconnaissance and field craft are the keys and to enjoy a good day much effort and expense has to be put into finding the bird's flight lines and feeding areas. It's not hard to see why we believe it's the best value for money shooting sport.

Shooting is currently limited to 3 days per week and whilst individual days are catered for a special weekend package that offers some fine shooting opportunities at a very agreeable rate is our main aim.

The bird is particulalry enjoyable eating with many recipes available on our website. However most chicken recipes can be adapted to incorporate Woodpigeon.
