The Hartsbrook School to Offer a Series on the Waldorf Alternative Approach to Reading
The Hartsbrook School offers an informative series on alternative approaches to reading for parents with school age children. Approach engenders joy of reading.
Hadley, MA (PRWEB) January 18, 2005 -- The Hartsbrook School offers an
informative series on alternative approaches to reading for parents with school
age children. This new series has been developed as the result of heightened
interest in the school’s novel approach.
The series of discussions will
be run by Hartsbrook educators. “Our approach to reading appreciates the
developmental stages of the individual child”, said second grade teacher, Mrs.
Elyce Perico. “It is our goal to develop a lively and life-long interest in
reading.” The series will be held in conjunction with The Hartsbrook School Open
Houses throughout the year.
The first of these Open Houses will take
place on Saturday, January 22 from 10 am-12 noon for parent-toddler through
grade two, at 94 Bay Road, Hadley Massachusetts. The Open House for grade three
through high school will take place from 11 am-1 pm, at 193 Bay Road. In
addition to the discussion on the Waldorf approach to reading the Open House
will include a presentation on the Waldorf curriculum and a puppet
show.
The Hartsbrook School has been educating young students from
pre-school through Grade 8 in the Waldorf tradition since 1981. In 2002, The
Hartsbrook High School opened. The purpose of Waldorf Education is to awaken the
mind, heart and will so that the whole child may be involved in every aspect of
learning.
