Sunbury, PA (PRWEB) March 26, 2005 -- Warrior Concepts International, a
professional self-protection and personal development academy located in
Sunbury, Pennsylvania, will hold its annual Spring Ninja Training Camp from
April 15th through the 17th, 2005. The camp, lead by master instructor Jeffrey
M. Miller, a 9th degree black belt in the Japanese martial art of ninjutsu, or
"the art of the ninja," will be held at Camp Mt. Luther and is open to any
adult, 16 and older, regardless of past experience or affiliation with Warrior
Concepts International. The camp is hosted by Miller, who has been involved in
the study and teaching of the martial arts and self-protection for two-thirds of
his life, as a way to bring together students, practitioners, and enthusiasts
for a weekend of intense training and study in the ancient life ways of Japan's
ancient ninja warriors. Through a series of lectures, hands-on training sessions
with Miller, and specialty breakout sessions with special guest instructors,
participants will be able to gain a better understanding of this often
misunderstood martial art.
"We have students and guest instructors
attending this year's camp that will be coming from as far away as Ontario,
Canada," says Miller. The theme for this year's Spring Ninja Camp will focus on
the "5 Phases of Training" and will provide students with a very usable way to
track their own progress and development through their training. Says Miller,
who began training in the martial arts when he was in seventh grade, "we hold
these special Ninja Training Camps in the Spring and Fall every year. They are
designed to give both regular and long-distance training members an intense,
weekend-long experience where they live, eat, and breathe their martial
art."
"Our camp is actually based on the training camps and seminars
conducted when I, and several of the guest instructors, began our own training
back in the early eighties," says Miller. "Many of the newer students have heard
the "war stories" about this early training where we got up early, trained hard
all day, and went to bed tired and happy, just to get up the next morning to do
it all over again." Miller says that most of the training experienced by today's
practitioners of ninjutsu, or ninpo as it's known in its higher, philosophical
form, has been limited to the dojo or "martial arts training hall" and these
seasonal camps allow them to experience, and veterans of the art to
re-experience what it's like to fully engage in their training.
The
Spring and Fall Ninja Training Camps hosted by Warrior Concepts International
are a perfect opportunity for teen and adult students to gain additional
insights into the study, practice, and history of the art. They also provide a
good introduction to the art as a whole for the person new to
ninjutsu.
