(PRWEB) May 10, 2004--It is with great pleasure to have this opportunity to
host a Child Safety Awareness Seminar for parents and children of our Community.
On May 21, 2004, John’s Tae Kwon Do will be hosting a Child Safety Awareness
seminar at the Lakeside Community Center at 6:00pm.
This event will
consist of a child safety presentation, followed by the Journey of the Steal
Proof Master movie. The Steal Proof Master movie details 10 methods abductors
use to lure our children away.During the Steal-Proof Master National Challenge,
children will be introduced to ten “evil warriors,” characters who represent the
most common lures used to abduct and assault children. Licensed trainers will
teach children to tell their parents or guardians when anything that another
adult does or says makes them feel uncomfortable. The children will participate
in role-playing and discussions, leading them to understand and anticipate the
potential dangers of interactions with strangers as well as friends and family
members who might mean them harm. John’s Tae Kwon Do will teach parents and most
importantly, children, how to defeat these abductors and easy self-defense moves
that can make a big difference.
The child safety awareness Seminar will
be offered in Lakeside at the Lakeside Community Center from 6:00PM – 8:30PM on
May 21st, 2004. Seating is limited so please arrive 15 minutes early. This is a
charitable event, FREE admission with Welcome Donations to benefit the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The first 25 children will receive a
free child ID Kit. Food and beverages will be available. Free Giveaways and
Raffle.
“Our vision for this event is that children and adults who
participate will become catalysts in our communities, bringing the messages in
this video and training program into their schools and community groups,” says
Master John Barbara. “Kids love this video and respond to its fantasy-based
approach. It holds their attention and the critical information gets transferred
in a way that they can relate to it.”
Staff, volunteers and students from
John’s Tae Kwon Do take great pride in producing and participating in the
Lakeside Child Safety Awareness Seminar.
