Monterey, CA (PRWEB) August 3, 2005 -- "For a fighting chance." That’s the
motto of selfdefenseforums.com. The interactive web forum dedicated to the
subject of self-defense and personal protection went online in December 2001.
Now, 4 years old it continues to grow daily. "We have over 5800 registered
members with new users signing up all the time. We expect the trend to continue
as word of the website spreads," says forum founder and self-defense advocate
James Perdue.
Perdue, like many, noticed an increased public interest in
self-defense and related topics but his search for information through the
internet yielded little in the way of useful content. So, he decided to develop
his own self-defense based web page "I wanted to create a website where people
could find information about self-defense and personal protection but I also
wanted it to be interactive; the forums were the perfect solution."
The
forums provide a wealth of information relating to the topic of self-defense
with subject specific sections including "Martial Arts" and "Womens
self-defense." There is even a section dedicated to avoiding common scams. The
subjects are cross referenced and searchable making it easy for readers to find
specific information.
One forum member who goes by the handle "Kanseg"
posted the following in response to a user poll:
"I seriously consider this
to be one of the better forums. There are serious people ready to discuss the
realities of self-defense with a sensible, realistic attitude.

When asked to what he attributes the growing interest in
self-defense Perdue says;
"I think that the current world climate coupled
with fear of domestic terrorism have awakened in people a desire to feel safer
and a willingness to be proactive about it. Our site brings together like-minded
people as well as professionals from law enforcement, martial arts, and personal
protection industries."
