BP Selects The Oxford Princeton Programme for Industry Training Courses
One of the world’s largest energy producers adds competitive advantage by providing employees with standard and advanced training in energy, commodities and derivatives markets
PRINCETON, NJ (PRWEB) August 2, 2004 -- The Oxford Princeton Programme, the
world’s leading provider of training solutions to the energy, commodity and
derivatives industries, announced it will provide an extensive educational
program, to BP, one of the world’s largest energy companies. Delivered in BP’s
Calgary, AB, Houston, TX and Warrenville, IL locations, the courses will consist
of a minimum of 16 training days covering all curriculum topics – energy,
commodities and derivatives.
“We realize the importance of consistent
education and training activities for our employees if we are to stay ahead of
the curve and maintain industry leadership,” said Mark Senn, training
coordinator of BP. “Working with top notch organizations like The Oxford
Princeton Programme ensures that our employees gain hands-on and realistic
experience and knowledge that will contribute to our bottomline
immediately.”
BP is one of the world's leading energy businesses, with
interests in more than 100 countries. Its main activities are exploration and
production of crude oil and natural gas; oil refining, marketing, supply and
transportation; and the manufacture and marketing of petrochemicals. It has a
growing presence in gas, power and renewables and in solar power generation. The
company employs more than 100,000 people worldwide.
“Since the 1980’s,
the number of trained petroleum professionals has been decreasing, due to a
variety of factors, such as retirements and cuts on university programs," said
Clara Lippert, The Oxford Princeton Programme president. "Within the next seven
to 10 years, the oil industry as a whole will face a potential crisis situation
without a properly trained workforce on current industry strategies and
methodology.”
Also as part of the contract, The Oxford Princeton
Programme will extend a special discount to attending BP employees for
additional courses available throughout the world until the end of the year. A
