Convention Center. He will co-present with Karen Herzeg, MSEE, MBA, University
of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, NY. The talk is titled "Marketing
Radiology - Creating & Managing the Value Delivery Chain."
This
session at the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) 2004 Annual
Meeting discusses the value delivery marketing methodology and provides a case
study using a hospital-based radiology department, which had little to no
organized marketing efforts. Value delivery marketing examines the relationships
a business creates with its customers through the experiences it provides those
customers. The business, which relative to its competitors, creates the superior
combination of customer experiences, is most successful in attracting and
retaining its customers. The combination of experiences offered by a business is
its “Value Proposition”. A properly constructed value proposition defines
customers and customer experiences, a time line, the desired customer action and
the competitive alternatives. After choosing a value proposition, a business
must provide the proposition and effectively communicate the proposition to its
customers. As the market and competition for imaging grows, the need to
effectively attract, retain and delight customers becomes more crucial to
financial success. The concepts and techniques provided in this session lend
themselves effectively to both hospital-based imaging departments as well as
imaging centers.
