SANTA ROSA, CA (PRWEB) June 8, 2004 -– Brian Erwin, successor trustee of the
Franklin B. Baker/A. Jean Ayres Baker Trust, today announced that the
Baker/Ayres Trust has granted the University of Southern California and Western
Psychological Services the right to use the Ayres name to promote its
Comprehensive Program in Sensory Integration. The USC/WPS Sensory Integration
and Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) certification program is the only
provider to have received the Baker/Ayres Trust endorsement.
"The
Comprehensive Program in Sensory Integration offered by USC/WPS is the only
Sensory Integration Praxis Test certification process that maintains and
promotes the research and training integrity and business standards espoused by
the late A. Jean Ayres," said Baker/Ayres successor trustee Brian Erwin. "Those
practitioners seeking to become SIPT certified are guaranteed that what they
learn emanates directly from A. Jean Ayres's theory of sensory integration and
her philosophy and intention for its application in practice."
Erwin
added, "Other SIPT certification providers who use the Ayres name to promote
their courses do so without our endorsement and are in violation of A. Jean
Ayres’s trademark."
"We are honored that our program received this
endorsement," said Susanne Smith Roley, M.S., OTR/L, project director of the
USC/WPS courses. "It is especially meaningful to us as so many of our
instructors aided Dr. Ayres in her primary SIPT research. We believe that the
training our attendees receive is a powerful means for expanding understanding
of her theory of sensory integration and how to apply it in
practice."
The Franklin B. Baker/A. Jean Ayres Baker Trust is a private
family trust located in Santa Rosa, California. For more information about the
