The American College Names New Associate Professor of Finance

Don Taylor, PhD., has been named Associate Professor of Finance at The American College. Dr. Taylor will be responsible for course management and delivery of the financial planning component of HS 318 Insurance and Financial Planning. The course is an integral part of the curriculum for financial service professionals earning the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations or completing the Certified Financial Planner course curriculum through The American College.

BRYN MAWR, PA (PRWEB) August 18, 2004 -- Don Taylor, PhD., has been named Associate Professor of Finance at The American College. Dr. Taylor will be responsible for course management and delivery of the financial planning component of HS 318 Insurance and Financial Planning. The course is an integral part of the curriculum for financial service professionals earning the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations or completing the Certified Financial Planner course curriculum through The American College.

Prior to joining the team at the American College, Taylor accumulated a vast array of experience in the financial services field. He was Treasurer of the Palm Beach County School District, a financial consultant, and a Debt Management Analyst for the Fiscal Agent of the Federal Home Loan Bank System.

His academic credentials are equally impressive. Taylor has held the rank of Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville; Adjunct Faculty, Visiting Instructor at Florida Atlantic University; and has served as an Academic Consultant to The American University. He has also written on personal finance topics since 1999 for the popular press.

Taylor earned a B.S. in Finance from Pennsylvania State University, an M.B.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology, a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Florida Atlantic University.

Dr. Taylor has had numerous articles published in academic and professional trade publications. Some of the more notable publications featuring articles by Professor Taylor include Cash Management, The Journal of International Securities Markets, Managerial Finance and Applied Financial Economics.
