DURHAM, NH (PRWEB via SEO-PR) June
2, 2004 –- Katie Delahaye Paine, a noted expert in PR performance measurement,
will lead a public relations workshop on the opening day of the second annual
Summit on the Future of Measurement. Says Paine, “Corporate communications
executives who participate will learn the basics of marketing research as well
as PR measurement and evaluation. Each participant will also leave with a
customized ‘Communications Performance Dashboard’ designed around specific
measures of success for his or her own organization.”
Paine’s public
relations workshop, Measurement 101, is the result of 17 years of experience in
developing measures of success for corporate communications executives. She
started her first PR performance measurement company in 1987. As CEO of her new
company, KDPaine & Partners, she currently works with companies such as
Hewlett Packard, Raytheon and Southwest Airlines to develop measures of public
relations effectiveness.
Sponsored by the Institute for Public Relations
and Ragan Communications, Paine’s public relations workshop will begin with an
overview of marketing research principles. Measurement 101 will also include her
detailed review of current PR performance measurement methodology. Finally, she
will provide an evaluation of PR measurement tools and vendors.
To put
theory into practice, attendees of the public relations workshop will then
participate in a series of Dashboard Development sessions that will provide each
participant with specific measures of success for his or her organization.
Measurement 101 is a pre-conference public relations workshop that kicks
off The Measurement Standard Summit on the Future of Measurement and Evaluation.
The second annual event will be held September 21-24, 2004, at the New England
Center on the campus of the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. It
features four days of in-depth study and discussion of the latest marketing
research on PR performance measurement.
The $599 fee for participating
in the pre-conference public relations workshop includes one night hotel
accommodation and attendance at Case Study day. While the pre-conference
workshop is not included in the $895 registration fee for the Measurement
Summit, corporate communications executives who take advantage of the early-bird
discount available until June 15, 2004, will pay only $795 for their
registration fee. Additional information is available at the Measures
of Success web site.
On Wednesday, September 22, Case Study Day will
feature discussions by some of the worlds’ most respected organizations,
including the US Marine Corps, JP Morgan Chase, and Dana Farber Cancer
Institute. Corporate communications executives will present their experiences in
implementing PR performance measurement within their organizations.
On
Thursday, September 23, the public relations industry’s leading experts will
present their view on where marketing research and PR performance measurement
are headed, both in the US and around the world. Guest speakers from Germany,
the UK and Latin America, along with leading academics and practitioners will
discuss their latest state-of-the-art measurement and evaluation programs.
On Friday, September 24, attendees can learn the latest marketing
research and PR performance measurement methods in a hands-one workshop lead by
Kathy Collins and Don Stacks, members of the Institute for Public Relations
Measurement Commission.
The first Measurement Summit, held in October of
2003, brought more than 60 of the best and brightest minds in PR performance
measurement together to map the future of the field. “We decided before the
first conference ended, that this needed to be an annual affair,” says Paine.
“Our goal was to attract equal representation from the four pillars of our
industry: academia, public relations agencies, corporate communications clients
and marketing research suppliers. We met the goal for every pillar but academia.
So this year, we’re excited to already have the Institute for Public Relations
on board as a sponsor. We hope this will help spread the word throughout the
academic community and help generate twice as many academic papers and case
histories this year.”
KDPaine & Partners regularly provides PR
performance measurement advice to some 2,500 members of her website as well as
dozens of clients worldwide. In addition to its Measures of Success web site, it also publishes The
Measurement Standard, The One Minute Benchmarking Bulletin, as well as numerous
white papers, buyers’ guides and handbooks.
