Students Create National PR Publication

The University of Missouri-Columbia Public Relations Club recently established Buzz Magazine, a national publication for public relations students, recent graduates, young professionals and educators. Buzz will serve as an educational supplement about the public relations industry.

COLUMBIA, Mo (PRWEB) August 2, 2004 -- The University of Missouri-Columbia Public Relations Club recently established Buzz Magazine, a national publication for public relations students, recent graduates, young professionals and educators. Buzz will serve as an educational supplement about the public relations industry.

“We're starting this project to help increase individuals' knowledge of and love for the public relations field,” said Heather Pugh, editor of Buzz and president of the PR Club.

The Public Relations Student Society of America offers many opportunities for students, but not every institution qualifies for a chapter, such as MU.

“Students need more than one avenue in which to explore their career. Buzz will help bring all budding public relations professionals together and give them an opportunity to contribute to the industry,” said Pugh.
   
On the first of every month, beginning Sept. 1, Buzz will be distributed via e-mail for free to subscribers. While the production staff will consist of MU students, students and professionals from across the nation will contribute articles.
   
In addition to cover and feature stories, Buzz will contain regular columns, including Q&A with a CEO, Book Reviews and Media Pitching Tips and Techniques.

All columns already have writers for the year, but Buzz needs approximately 10-15 feature articles per issue. Buzz’s staff encourages anyone – students, recent graduates, educators or professionals – interested in public relations with some writing experience to contribute.
