Technology Resource Center, Inc. Named New "Authorized Academic Select Dealer" by Microsoft, Inc.
To more effectively serve academic customers with the Microsoft Select licensing program, Microsoft named Technology Resource Center, Inc. an "Authorized Academic Select Dealer" - a brand-new designation of channel partner. In essence, this designation creates an academic-specific LAR.
West Dundee, IL (PRWEB) July 12, 2004 -- Looking to establish a volume
software licensing resource specifically for academic customers, Microsoft, Inc.
named Technology Resource Center, Inc. (TRC) an "Authorized Academic Select
Dealer", a new designation for software licensing channel partners.
Only
partners designated "Large Account Resellers"(LARs) are authorized to sell the
Microsoft Select volume licensing program. This new program creates an
education-specific LAR. The new Academic Select dealer program was implemented
after a need was recognized by Microsoft for a dealer to serve the specialized
needs of academic volume licensing customers, and an extensive nationwide review
was done to identify and interview candidate companies for the
program.
According to TRC president Jeff Weber, "The company's sole
mission is to serve the academic community with IT sales, specifically volume
software licensing." It was this expertise with the education customer that made
TRC an exceptional candidate for this Microsoft program. "TRC specializes in
technology sales to the education market, and that is all that we focus on,"
said Mr. Weber. "It is this experience that helps us to understand the
customer's needs regarding purchasing cycles, serial number delivery, program
administrative assistance, compliance and reporting. Microsoft recognized these
abilities and found them most favorable in looking for partners in the Education
Select program. TRC is excited to be one of only two companies selected to
participate in this initiative."
TRC, founded in 1995, is headquartered
in West Dundee, IL. Since its inception, TRC has served thousands of education
customers in the United States, from students and teachers to school districts
and universities. TRC's goal is to provide the right technology to educators and
students, ranging from software licensing to system integration.
