The Oxford Princeton Programme Creates New Course Focused on the Importance of Fuel Technology; Targeted towards fuel marketers, the course helps to break a preconceived commodity mindset to market products better.
PRINCETON, NJ (PRWEB) October 18, 2004 -- The Oxford Princeton Programme, the
world’s leading provider of training solutions to the energy, commodity and
derivative industries, addresses oil industry’s “commodity image” in a new
course called Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Technology. Targeted to fuel marketers,
the course provides an introduction to gasoline and diesel fuel technology. It
discusses topics such as refining, blending, specifications, performance,
environmental aspects and the use of additives, along with the current and
future challenges faced by motor manufacturers, oil and additive
industries.
“The key challenge for gasoline and diesel fuel marketers is
to move their product away from its commodity image,” explains Roger Hutcheson,
course director and technical director of Cameron Associates. “The reason lies
in differentiation. If the product is seen just as a commodity, then all
products are seen as the same and customers merely buy the cheapest on the
market. The trick for fuel marketers is to advertise why their fuel is better
and to do this, an understanding of fuel technology is required. This course
will help delegates to break the preconceived commodity mindset.”
Roger
Hutcheson is the technical director of Cameron Associates, an independent
automotive fuel and environmental consultant firm. Prior to founding Cameron
Associates, Roger worked for Shell for over 30 years, specializing in gasoline
and diesel fuel technical marketing. He has recently updated the U.S. Society of
Automotive Engineers Automotive Fuels Handbook.
”The Oxford Princeton
Programme follows the energy industry on a minute-by-minute basis,” said Clara
Lippert, president of The Oxford Princeton Programme. “Adding a gasoline and
diesel fuel technology course feeds the industry need for more education in this
segment of the industry and compliments our Gasoline Technology –
Specifications, Quality, Blending Components, Additives and Market Developments
and Automotive Diesel Fuels – Fuel Manufacture, Product Quality, Engine Design
and the Potential for Additives courses.”
Gasoline and Diesel Fuel
Technology is a three-day intensive course. The first scheduled date will be
March 15 – 17, 2005 in Oxford, UK
