Act2gether.net Launches Three New Courses for Professionals
A disability empowerment advocacy group announces the release of three new lifespan disability advocacy courses geared towards professionals in the United States.
(PRWEB) September 1, 2004 -- Act2gether.net recently added three online
advocacy training workshops to a new level by offering to legal professionals,
foster parent, and caseworkers. With the ongoing federal legislation push to
full inclusion of disabled school aged students into the mainstream classrooms,
it increased the need to have more highly trained professionals assisting single
parents on medical and educational needs in a parenting or custodial parent
agreement.
Act2gether contends that child custody and divorce attorneys
needs additional training to assist parents of school aged minor children
navigate the difficult school and medical issues faced by single, legally
separated, and divorced parents face on a daily basis. These issues can often be
overlooked within the traditional parenting agreement to the detriment of a
disabled child's progress in school or medical control of the minor child's
disablity.
We hope with the additions of these three courses to increase
the legal system's awareness of these issues with the increased population of
disabled individuals within the United States.
The course will be taught
by experienced community advocate instructors who have many years experience
working with parents of disabled children. The instructors receive additional
specialized training to teach these courses.
A certificate of completion
with no college or continuing education credits will be awarded upon the
successful completion of the workshops since the courses are for enrichment
purposes only.
