Hoboken, NJ ( PRWEB) October 7, 2004 -- eLearners.com Inc., creator of the
leading website for connecting learners to education, today announced their
second quarter results for eLearners IndexTM, which contains valuable marketing
research data about online degree programs. The index reflects statistical data
on the activities of visitors to the eLearners.com® website, including the site
areas they view and the programs that generate the highest number of inquiries
from prospective students.
The top 10 online degree subjects for Q2 2004
were:
1. Business Administration and MBA
2. Psychology
3. Nursing
4. Engineering
5. Liberal Arts / Humanities
6. K12 Education
7.
Information Systems and Technology
8. Criminal Justice
9. Early
Childhood Education
10. Health Administration
Four of the ten spots
on the list changed since the first quarter, including Early Childhood Education
that moved up two spots to number nine, replacing Business Specialties -
Management (now at 11). Overall, Business Administration and specialties such as
Marketing, Accounting, and Management comprise the highest area of interest
among students pursuing an online education. Within the subject of Business,
more students are interested in bachelor's degrees in business than a master's.
Also worth noting is that prospective bachelor's in business students prefer
studies in specific business specialties, while students pursuing a master's in
business prefer a more broad business education.
Degrees in health
related fields are also very popular; licensed health care workers are looking
to obtain bachelor's and master's degrees to advance their careers into
administrative positions. Prospective students are also looking into
administrative and billing training for medical, dental and veterinary offices.
"We began publishing the Index earlier this year to make our valuable
web site data available to post-secondary institutions that seek to strengthen
their position in the online education market." said C.J. DeSantis, president of
eLearners. "We have found that these statistics can serve as a valuable resource
for institutions that are looking to expand or enhance their program
offerings."
Accredited higher education institutions, and qualified
entities engaged in market research, can purchase a full copy of the Index or
