Masonic Soccer Foundation Names Men's High School All Star Soccer Team
The Wisconsin Masonic Soccer Foundation has named the Men's High School All Star Soccer team that will participate in the High School All Star Soccer Game. Exceptional student athletees were nominated by their high school coaches, and the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association for this recognition.
(PRWEB) May 20, 2005 -- From hundreds of potential candidates, the students
named to the High School All Star Soccer team will be participating in a three
day soccer camp experience and recieving top notch coaching that culminates in
an event, now known as "Wisconsin's Best Soccer Game". "It is the best,"
according to Nancy Storrs, President of the Wisconsin Masonic Soccer Foundation,
"because these are not just stellar athletes, but they are also exceptional
students." Both Men's and Women's teams are named for this event. Women's Team
Members are announced after High Schools have graduated their students and all
scholastic athletics activities are concluded.
The Wiscosnin Masonic
Soccer Foundation sends proceeds from admission to the All Star Soccer Games to
Shrine Hospitals and Special Olympics. Shrine Hospitals provide free burn and
orthopedic care at over a dozen locations nationwide. Special Olympics of
Wisconsin serves over 10,000 families in the state.
At the end of the
respective men's and women's high school soccer seasons, the Wisconsin Soccer
Coaches Association, high schools around the state nominated students to recieve
this honor. This year, hundreds were considered, but only a select group of
young people met the criteria as "Masonic High School All Stars". Many of the
players on the Masonic High School All Stars are also All-State athletes, and
are among the highest calibre players in the state of Wisconsin.
The
honor of being named to the Masonic High School All Star Soccer Team includes a
three day soccer camp experience held at Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. Uniforms are provided by Sassy Shirts, Inc. of Whitewater, Wisconsin.
Coaching is by top 15 ranked high school coaches, and culminates in an All Star
Soccer Game for each the men's and women's teams in featured games which are
held the last Saturday in July at the Bavarian Inn Soccer Fields in Milwaukee.
Dozens of businesses and members of the Masonic Fraternity that
coordinate this event volunteer hundreds of hours each year to make it an
exciting showcase of All Star High School soccer talent, and to raise funds for
the chrities that the event supports.
For competition, the High School
All Stars are divided into two separate teams "Blue" and "Gold"
with the
Men's Blue Team representing the North and Western Counties outside the
Milwaukee Area, and the Men's Gold Team represents the Metro Milwaukee
Area.
