FC Indiana Signs Two Mexico Women’s National Team Players
Leyva and Perez to arrive in April.

2005 -- FC Indiana of Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) announced the signing
of two international players from Mexico. Fatima Leyva, a midfielder and Paty
Perez, also a midfielder, are expected to strengthen the FC Indiana midfield for
the 2005 season.
Leyva (24), a huge star in Mexico where crowds of 50,000
fans for women’s international matches are not unusual, has had a storied
international career, having participated at the CONCACAF (1998), Nike Cup
(1998, 2000), World Cup (1999), Pan American Games (1999, 2003), Athens Olympics
(2004) and Copa de Oro (2000) tournaments. She has 12 goals in 46 games for
Mexico. When the Mexican national team failed to qualify for the 2003 women's
World Cup, she was hired by Telemundo as a color commentator for their World Cup
broadcasts.
Perez (26) has represented Mexico 41 times, scoring 9 goals.
She participated at the CONCACAF (1998), Nike Cup (1998, 2000), World Cup
(1999), Pan American Games (1999, 2003), Athens Olympics (2004) and Copa de Oro
(2000) tournaments.

Both Players are expected to arrive in Indiana on April 23,
2005.
