TAGteach International Announces Professional Certification Seminars for Coaches and Teachers in the TAGteach Method and the Positive Reinforcement Delivery System
TAGteach International is offering two seminars for professional certification of TAGteach instructors. Attendees will learn how to apply the TAGteach method and will receive standing as TAGteach certified teachers upon successful completion of the 2-day program. TAGteach is a positive reinforcement-based teaching system that has application in sports, in physical therapy and in the classroom. The seminars will be held in Wingate University: Metro College, 110 Matthews Station Street, Matthews, NC 28105 on May 21-22, 2005, at a Dancer’s Dream Studio, Marblehead, MA July 16-July 17, 2005.
Waltham, MA (PRWEB) February 21, 2005 -- TAGteach is teaching with acoustical
guidance, and is used for fast-track learning in athletes and students. The
teacher or coach “tags” correct performance of skill elements with a click
sound. The student’s brain does not have to process corrections, emotions or
translations while the body is trying to perform complicated movements. The TAG
taught athlete learns to react to this "data" with lightning fast speed while
building muscle memory and confidence. The all-positive tools of TAGteach create
a comfortable and secure learning environment for students and teachers of any
discipline.
"TAGteach is wonderful for children. They learn so much
faster and they learn empathy and partnership as they tag each other. Learning
through positive reinforcement is physiologically an elating, joyful experience.
What a great way to learn", said Karen Pryor, Behavioral Scientist and
best-selling author.
TAGteach has been used in many disciplines,
including artistic gymnastics, Special Olympic rhythmic gymnastics, dance,
soccer, volleyball, martial arts, speech pathology and in the academic
classroom. “Tagging has taught my students to think for themselves”, said
kindergarten teacher Amy Roberts. “We saw an almost immediate improvement in
skill execution and confidence in our Special Olympics rhythmic gymnasts”, said
Debbie Boycott, head coach of the Oakville Butterflies from Oakville, ON Canada.
“The athletes were very quick to understand and appreciate this way of teaching
and were even able to teach each other using the TAGteach method”.
“Using
TAGteach has been the most important career move I’ve ever made. I truly enjoy
coaching again and my TAGtaught athletes have made tremendous strides and
brought home a lot of gold medals. They exude confidence and are learning to
take responsibility for their own training”, said Theresa McKeon, coach at
International Gymnastics in Matthews, NC
Seminars held last year in
Marblehead MA and Waltham MA drew attendees from many US states and as far away
as Ireland and the Yukon Territories and from many different disciplines
including dance, gymnastics, special education, soccer, school physical
education, classroom teaching, precision teaching, dog handling and equestrian
teaching.
Abby Schneider, a dance teacher from North Dakota, had this to
say about the TAGteach seminar, “I loved everything about it. I’m all about
teaching in a positive way and making the kids want to take part. TAGteach will
be at my dance studio”.
TAGteach certification will be of interest to
teachers, coaches and adult students who wish to use positive and precision
teaching tools in their field. TAGteach International is offering five free
spaces to Special Olympics coaches interested in attending. The 2-day seminar
will bring together coaches and teachers from many disciplines to learn from the
founders of TAGteach in Matthews NC on May 21-22, 2005 and Marblehead MA July
16-17, 2005.
TAGteach International is a company dedicated to the
implementation of the principles that teachers and coaches deserve an effective
all positive teaching methodology, that students deserve to experience learning
through an effective all positive methodology and that effective teaching takes
place with the willing participation of those being taught. The company offers a
hosted seminar and workshop program that allows groups to arrange their own
learning experiences with TAGteach principals providing program
content.
