Markmender™ Introduces New Product--Signs License Deal With CHAMP
The revolutionary MarkMender™ ball mark repair tool is now available in metal. Cranman Golf Products, LLC signs deal with CHAMP.
(PRWEB) August 29, 2005 -- Following the success of the original polymer
product, Cranman Golf Products, LLC (CGP) has developed and introduced a new
metal version. The tool is a lightweight pocket sized mechanical device that
quickly and correctly repairs ball marks with the same motion that is prescribed
by most of golf’s turf care authorities. The product’s four prongs surround a
ball mark and reach into the green. A golfer simply needs to squeeze and the
ball mark is quickly and correctly repaired. It’s virtually impossible to
misuse.
In addition to the new product roll out, CGP also announced this
week that it signed a licensing agreement with CHAMP to manufacture and
distribute the MarkMender™ ball-mark repair tool to golf retailers worldwide.
CHAMP manufactures and distributes CHAMP Stinger™ and CHAMP ScorpionSpikes™
which are designed to minimize damage to the greens. Therefore, it should be no
surprise that the company would want to enter into an agreement for yet another
product that would also help preserve greens and enhance the playing experience.
Initially, CHAMP will manufacture a new model of the tool made of a durable
plastic polymer.
The product was met with great enthusiasm earlier this
year at the industry’s two major U.S. golf shows. Golf, Inc. magazine named it a
“Top Pick” of the 2005 PGA Show. In addition, the product has been featured in
Golf Magazine and on several regional television shows.
Roy Cranman, the
CEO of CGP said recently that “Even with all of the amazing changes in golf
technology over the last 100 years, the science of ball mark repairs has
remained virtually unchanged. Some argue this is because the old forked tool
works well. And when used properly it does a fine job. However, the evidence
shows that very few people do use it correctly. If it were not such a big
problem the USGA would not have spent over 21 million dollars since 1983 looking
for solutions to the problem. Perhaps the fact that so few people actually know
how to use it correctly is the core of the problem? If most people had picked up
their feet when walking on the greens there would have been no need for soft
golf spikes. In the hands of most people, these old forked tools are virtual WMD
to putting surfaces around the world. What’s even worse is that most golf
facilities actually arm their players with these lethal weapons even as their
own frustrated superintendents spend time and money on the problem with little
or no success. Perhaps its time for a change?”
