So You Think YOU Can Dance?
Ever wonder where and how the dancers from the NBA, NFL, Arena Football, and other professional sports dance teams do their pre-season training? You had to look no further than the Hyatt Regency and the James L. Knight Center Miami, Florida July 31 through August 3, 2005.
(PRWEB) August 18, 2005 -- When Rosalyn Jones, Founder/CEO of ProDance,
welcomed over 300 pro sports dancers, directors and choreographers representing
the US, Canada, and Europe in the Arthur Ashe Auditorium in downtown Miami,
Sunday July 31 everyone knew this year they were in for something special.
ProDance 2005 kicked off with an information packed directors only
luncheon featuring presenters Rebecca Girard from the Detroit Pistons, Donald
Wells from the Washington Redskins, and Brian Gendece, entertainment consultant,
and speakers representing the best in the dance apparel, and music
industry.
Sunday night, John Peters; 6 year ProDance veteran
choreographer, took the entire camp through a special all camp routine, but the
surprises didn’t stop there. The guys and girls knew they were going to Miami’s
sizzling South Beach on Monday, but they didn’t know where. After a brief
introduction by Cheryl Lawson, CEO & President of The Perfect Date, the
event coordinator for ProDance 2005, the music started and five dancers from
Mangos Tropical Café on South Beach took the stage and performed two exciting
routines for the ProDance audience. Mango’s choreographer, Kike, taught everyone
a fun routine to the Reggaeton hit “Gasolina” so they all could have a song to
perform to Monday night at Mango’s , mind you this was only day
one!
Monday started off with more surprises. At breakfast, each attendee
received gift bags with goodies from ProDance sponsors Satin Stitches, Team
Image, Danskin, Coty cosmetics, Alacer, and more.
Brian Gendece, “The
Entertainment Dr.” was up next with a world class, multi-media keynote
presentation. Brian spoke on topics ranging from dance industry trends, to
proper audition protocol. Afterwards, Fresh from the hit show “So You Think you
can dance”, celebrity choreographer, Brian Friedman gave everyone a preview of
his three phenomenal routines.
The amazing line up of choreographers -
Kimberly Baum, Mina and Marina Ortega, Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo, John Peters,
Cris Judd, Eddie Garcia, Lee Martino, Brian Friedman and Tina Landon - brought
the house down with the most spectacular choreography created exclusively for
ProDance.
“We had an amazing and memorable experience, and it REALLY was
the best line up of choreographers ever! No one can touch what you've
accomplished and we are very grateful for all that is ProDance!”
Rebecca
Girard, Director Detroit Pistons Automotion.

convention - I was so impressed by the entire event and had an amazing time! I
really appreciate your hard work & passion for what you do. Thanks, Juli

" I can't even begin to explain to you how much we
enjoyed our time at ProDance again this year! From the moment you released this
year's choreographer line-up, I just knew it was going to be the best one yet!
I applaud you for continuing to grow this program to such new and great
levels...you've created a product and a following that just can't be
rivaled...and you should be so proud! I feel so privileged to have been a part
of this experience and growth since the beginning and I will continue to be here
to help you in any way I can so that Pro Dance continues to grow, evolve, and
succeed!" Jeanine Kem-Thomas, Manager/Choreographer, Orlando Magic
Dancers.
"Dear Ros and Cheryl, Congratulations to both of you for
producing such an amazing event! My clients enjoyed it very much (and so did I).
I look forward to working with you next year. Everyone is raving about it. The
number of attendees will be much higher next year. Please STAY in touch." Best,
