Free E-Learning Design Tool Available Online from GSELearning Software
"Eddie" is a new web-based E-Learning design tool that helps instructional designers manage projects. The beta version of Eddie is now available.
Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) December 13, 2004 -- Before eLearning content is
developed, it must first be designed. Yet few tools have been available to help
with the design process. "Eddie" (the familiar form of "ED" for "E-Learning
Designer") is a free web-based tool specifically built for designing eLearning
content.
Eddie uses an objective-based approach to instructional design.
A series of learning objectives are added to a project and each objective is
accomplished using one or more learning activities. These are classified as one
of three types: presentations, interactions, or assessments.
Each
learning activity can have one or more multimedia assets assigned to it, such as
audio clips or images. These assets become the "building blocks" of the content.
Eddie provides a report that shows not only the project hierarchy but also a
list of all of the required multimedia assets. This list can be used as a
checklist to prepare for the eLearning authoring process.
Eddie was built
to be used with the "ELearning Artisan" authoring application and lets you
select an appropriate Learning Object Blueprint for each learning activity. But
Eddie can be used with other authoring environments as well.
Eddie is
currently in beta release and is limited to one project per
user.
