Mic-O-Mic Americas Inc. Wins Yet More Toy Awards from Dr. Toy, the World Renowned Toy Expert
Mic-O-Mic's Helicopter and Large Breakdown truck have been given "Dr. Toy's Best Smart Play / Smart Toy Product for 2005" Awards
(PRWEB) April 6, 2005 -- World-renowned toy guru and child development
authority, Dr. Toy, author of several books and articles about smart play to
enhance children’s PQ (Play Quotient), has granted each of Mic-O-Mic’s
Helicopter (Model # 2.06) and Large Breakdown truck (Model # 8.02) “Dr. Toy’s
Best Smart Play / Smart Toy Product for 2005” Awards.
Dr. Toy’s comments
on these two Awards are:
“Helicopter (Model # 2.06)
This is a fun
construction kit that features a sharp and colorful helicopter. This puzzle is a
beginner model that is sturdy, durable, and easy-to-assemble. It measures seven
inches in length. Your child’s imagination will unfold as they fly their new
creation like a bird in the wind. These products feel good and have excellent
colors. The toys are made from high quality plastics and are unbreakable with
patented plugs and clips that are almost impossible to take apart. Disassembly
requires a plug extractor, included in each kit. There is an open-ended play
experience. Instructions for each of the projects are included that will help
your child to develop their own fine motor and cognitive skills. They can do the
projects alone, with an adult, or with friends.”
“Large Breakdown Truck
(Model # 8.02)
This is a fun construction kit that features a sharp and
colorful large truck. It’s a tow truck, a wrecker truck and a breakdown truck.
It is a 3-D type puzzle that stands ten inches in length. This puzzle is sturdy,
durable and easy-to-assemble. It features plastic because of the texture and
feels and looks more like wood. Your child’s imagination will unfold as they
drive their new creation. These products feel good and have excellent colors.

When The National Parenting
Center gave their Seal of Approval Award in November 2004 to Mic-O-Mic’s
Cabriolet (Model # 6.01) they said:
“Cabriolet - Traditionally, building toys
have followed a rather narrow developmental pattern. Innovations in the genre
are few and far between. With that said, when a completely new type of system
comes along we tend to take notice. The unique plastic and rubber pieces that
make up this Cabriolet car are so different that we weren’t sure what we were
supposed to do at first, where were the tools, the glue, the detailed
instructions? What we found was superbly molded plastic pieces that connected
with fasteners unlike any our testers had seen before. The magic is that it’s
easy and fun and when you snap the last piece in place, you have a cool looking
project that you can really play with.”
When Parents’ Choice Foundation
gave their Parents’ Choice Approved Award in November 2004 to Mic-O-Mic’s
Butterfly plane(Model # 2.08) they said:
“Review - Consisting of more
than fifty sturdy, colorful plastic pieces that can be assembled into a small
single-engine airplane (with butterfly-like wings) using pins and plastic tab
connectors, there are no real assembly instructions, just a layout diagram and
two illustrations on the box. The plane is very sturdy and has survived many
test flights and rough landings. Peter likes to take some pieces apart using the
tool provided with the model (this must also be assembled), but doesn’t mess
with the angled/bent connectors because these can be tricky to replace. Because
the tiny pins are easily lost, we were pleased that several extra were included
with the kit. Although it is expensive, it is well crafted and
appealing.”
Mic-O-Mic construction toys (often described as being like
3-D puzzles), winners of Design Awards in Europe and several toy awards in
America since first introducing Mic-O-Mic to North America in the Spring of
2004, are now a recipient of these two more awards to add to the seven awards
already received from Dr. Toy and the awards from The National Parenting Center
and Parents’ Choice Foundation.
