'Kitty Goes Californian' is Available Now
"Kitty Goes Californian" is a teen comedy about retro sufer girl supreme, Kitty Fisher and her summer of adventure with her trusty board, Trixie.
(PRWEB) August 23, 2005 -- "Kitty Goes Californian" is a comedic surfer girl
novel written for the 12-16 age group and anyone with a secret surfer girl
lurking within.
"Kitty Goes Californian" is the story of Kitty Fisher, a
16-year old New York City girl obsessed with all things Gidget and retro surf.
But catching a good break from her Upper East Side apartment in Manhattan is all
but impossible for Kitty and her faithful board, Trixie.
So when Kitty's
estranged dad invites her to his new California digs for the summer she jumps on
the chance, dreaming of surfing safari adventures and true Betty-hood.
But her Technicolor dream is scratched when she finds herself solo and
friendless not to mention intimidated by the hordes of perfect surfers. To make
matters worse, her plans for some fatherly bonding with her soul surfing dad
fall apart as he puts work before her leaving her without any surf buddy at
all.
Feeling like the west coast's biggest social leper, Kitty's hopes
for a bitchin' summer fall apart. But then she meets Zeke and his gang of locals
and her summer goes from the depths of social misery to a full-on wahine
adventure full of endless near drownings, aloha tiki parties, major crushage and
finding her very own Moondoggie.
"Kitty Goes Californian" is the first
novel of Pepper McNeil. While living in Los Angeles, Pepper found she was an
even worse surfer than Kitty.
"Kitty Goes Californian" is available both
as an online e-book at http://www.kittygoescalifornian.com (which includes a
'bictchin' extras' section) as well as as in paperback through http://www.Lulu.com.
