Eagle, ID (PRWEB) May 3, 2005 -- Daytona Dayton, host of Daytona &
Friends Radio, will be moving to Alaska for participation in the March, 2006
Iditarod race. A national fundraiser, Pennies for Miles, is being established
for Schools and Charities, with hopes that her endeavor to face 1200 miles of
wilderness with her dog sled team will help bring attention and raise funds for
children’s needs everywhere. "School budgets are being cut and charities that
help children need a boost in donations," Dayton says. "Pennies for Miles is our
way of helping to make a difference." Companies, as well as individuals, can
choose their own charities to support.
The Iditarod (http://www.iditarod.com) has
been called the “Last Great Race on Earth" and it covers over 1,150 miles of the
roughest, most beautiful terrain Mother Nature has to offer. Jagged mountain
ranges, frozen river, dense forest, desolate tundra and miles of windswept coast
test the mushers and their dog teams. Temperatures far below zero and winds that
can cause a complete loss of visibility, long hours of darkness and treacherous
climbs and you have the Iditarod, a race from Anchorage, in south central
Alaska, to Nome.
Daytona & Friends Radio is a program focused on
racing, automotive news and women making a difference in the industry as well as
