The Snowsports School at Cannon Mountain offers special clinics for skiers/riders of all ages and abilities. These clinics include race camps, day camps for children, and special tips to enhance visitors enjoyment of their Cannon Mountain experience.
Franconia Notch, NH (PRWEB) January 18, 2005 -- A season-long racing camp for
adults will be offered on Sundays from January 9 to February 27. From 9:30 to
11:30 a.m., participants are timed in racing gates and get coached by Cannon
Mountain's Snowsports School instructors. The course alternates between giant
slalom and slalom. The cost for the full season is $175; daily entries into the
group will be available for $29 (the price of a group lesson).
Also
available are Children's day camps, in which children ages 4-7 and 8-12 are
grouped together according to skill level and ability so they can learn at their
own pace in a comfortable environment. New this year is 'Hang Time,' a program
geared to kids ages 11-14 who want more.
In addition, Cannon Mountain is
hosting Afternoon Matinees on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays at 1:30 p.m. For
$29, skiers/riders can get tips on the best techniques to help them master
Cannon Mountain's Front Five slopes. From kids wanting to work in the bumps to
first-timers looking for a women's focus workshop, skiers and riders will get
just the help they're looking for from Cannon Mountain's Afternoon Matinees.

New this season at Cannon Mountain
With ease of access
and value, Cannon Mountain Ski Area offers some of the most exciting skiing in
East. With an eye toward increased convenience for potential visitors, the
mountain has recently launched a totally revamped website at www.cannonmt.com, with a new
online store, ticket sales, special programs, and all other mountain
information.
While Cannon Mountain has a reputation for challenging and
fun expert trails, the newly expanded Brookside Area offers skiing/riding
opportunities for the whole family. The Brookside Triple Chair and Tuckerbrook
Quad Chair offer quick access to nine trails with terrain for beginning and
intermediate skiers/boarders. The Brookside Learning Center offers all-day and
part day programs for all ages and abilities, plus childcare for children six
weeks and older.
Also new this year is the Zoomer Club Card, offering
frequent skiers/riders significant savings. Available for just $10, the Zoomer
Club Card entitles cardholders to a free lift ticket after the purchase of 10
lift tickets. Members also receive discounts at the ski shop, rentals, and other
special deals.
There has also been a tremendous investment in the
snowmaking system, from renovating and upgrading existing equipment to expanding
the scope of the overall operation. Cannon Mountain has increased and in some
cases doubled the number of snowmaking guns on many trails, while an addition of
a new groomer will help maintain peak conditions on the mountain. Opening Day is
set for Friday November 26, 2004.
