Summary: Funny
Comment: This is Richard Pryors funniest stand up by far! The problem is the DVD sound was delayed with the running film picture. Still-its his funniest ever.

Summary: DVD
Comment: The video was given as a gift. He loves the video and watches endlessly laughing throughout the whole video. I did not recieve half the things I ordered, and I almost did not recieve the video. The website was difficult to navigate and many of the links did not take you where you needed to go.

Summary: The Mecca of Stand-up comedy
Comment: It does not get any better than this, Pryor is in his element and his story telling is as raucous as ever. The problem is the generation of standups who learned from him, but started to cuss just for the sake of it.
Profanities when used by Pryor becomes almost silly and funny in its very connotation, unlike the ppl who try to replicate it. There can only be one true comedy king ( yes, as opposed to the false one) and that is King Richard Pryor, Rest-in-Peace, my friend.
Great Record and the ultimate tonic for depressed people world over.
--Five stars no less. Primo stuff.--

Editorial Reviews:

Watching Pryor go from imitating a drinking deer to a woman debating about going in the woods gives just a hint of the comedic genius of the man. Crude, foul, and real, this is the first and best of his concert films. Pryor does dead-on impersonations of the respective races, cussing, trying to act tough, getting kicked in personal spots. But it's his imagination that elevates him to a different level. He gives his impressions of what animals think, from his own animals (a monkey, a Doberman) to police dogs, and it seems so exact, so prescient. Not to mention the fact that he is self-deprecating in the extreme, and has as much fun skewering himself as any other subject. Still vibrant, still funny. --Keith Simanton
