Customer Rating: Summary: A great and fantastic game Comment: This game is a one-of-a-kind. Compared to today's standards, with the PS3 and everything, this game has horrible graphics. BUT it is absolutely amazing. The variety of weapons, the way the enemies die, the diversity of the missions and objectives and the cheats are absolutley unbeatable. I've played this game for well over 8 years and yet the game never gets old. It is in top condition and never ever gets boring.
Customer Rating: Summary: The Best FPS Game Ever created Comment: Here it is, the ultamite Bond Game. Based on the movie of the same name, few thaught that it would turn out to be a revolutionary Masterpeice. I admit that I think that FPS games are not my favorite genre and that I feel like many FPS games realesed this generation are pretty Generic and repetitive, there is something about this game that I think is just a perfect marage that realy feels like an incredibly well crafted N64 game from RARE. Everything from the weapons, the objectives, the difficulty, the Multiplayer( so much to tell about this), the Graphics, The Music, everything about it just feels so well done that it is nearly flawless.
Presentation: The Story is mostly the same as the movie Goldeneye( which I thaught was easily the best Peirce Brosnan one by the way), so it involves stoping a sattelite used to target London under the orders of the Mysterious Janus. Bond must infiltrate facilitys, bunkers, go through cold severnaya, Through the streets of saint Petersberg, and many other places as he tracks down Janus to his base in Cuba.
graphics: Even though it was an early N64 game, it still features some of the best 3D graphics of its time, Although many charecters look square close up, they still look very detaild for their time. many of the charecters look almost identical to the acters, alec tryvillian looks like sean bean, Bond looks like Peirce Brosnan, and well you get the idea. Their are also many effects to the graphics such as fog, smpoke,, reflections in the glass, and much more. the death animations are also different and detaild, as are the different weapons. i perssonnaly realy like the Snow levil because of the detail and the hoods that the bad gyes wear which makes it hard to see that they are square. I also realy like the silo, and the antenna cradle look salmost identical to the movie.
Sound: another aspect that this game does extremely well is it sound. The gunfire, the screams, the explosions, are all Spectacular. It is very satisfying to hear the sound of your weapons shooting the enemy. the music is simply outstanding. The Classic Bond theme plays throughout the game, it has many clever remixes as well. The music fits the atmesphere of each levil. The only thing it is missing is the Goldeneye theme but that is hardly important with every other aspect that was transferred to the game perfectly.
Gameplay: This game has 18 missions that you play through to complete it. The missions certainly get harder as the game goes on. Once you Complete the game once, you will unlock harder difficulty settings. There is alot of variety in the activitys that you do. You must infiltrate a Russion base to meet up with 006, Sneek into the severnya bunker to Steal the Goldeneye Key, save Hosteges on a frigate and put a tracking bug on a helicopter, go through a mazelike statue park, chase generl Orumov through the streets of saint. Petersberg, stop a train, go through Cuba, and eventually come to the base to stop the Goldeneye sattelite. The Controls work Very well and feel like they wer tailor made for the N64. You can even change the controller Funcionallity to what suit you best. There are many Great Weapons in the game. You ussually initially start out with the water PPK(Called the PP7 in the game, i do not know why), but later aquire enemys weapons such as the soviete, Sniper Rifle, Grenade Launcher, Klobb, And many others. each weapon has its uses depending on the Levil you are playing on. As you Play, you Really feel like 007, and almost Every Levil is extremely fun to play and replay. You can also unlock many cheats for completing certain objectives. This game is probably Know widely for its Amzing Multiplayer. And the Multiplayer is amazing. It is just a blast to get four people together and just shoot the hell out of each other. There are many different modes such as You only live twice, flag tag, the living daylights, the man with the golden gun, and of course normal, as well as many more. I just love getting the Golden gun and blasting everyone in one hit. This game realy has everything you could want from an FPS game, or a Bond Game.
Bad: In a few of the missiona, you will have the Bond Girl, Natalia with you. i find her pretty annoying, she seems to run in front of me while I am shooting bad gyes, You have to protect her, she has lame puns toward the end, And in one of the later stages you have to protect her while she hacks into the Computer, which is realy a pain I think. She has a pistol, why the hell dosent she use it more to defend herself while i shhot bad gyes. I also did not see the point tin changing the names of the guns eather.
Good: Well just about everything else that I posted. The controls are Flawles, the Graphics were great for their time, the music and sound efects are fantastic, the missions are Very Well crafted and extremely fun to play, The Multiplayer has everything you could want, their are jsut so many good aspects. This was and still is, a Masterpeice, and in my opinion remains, not only the best James Bond game, but one of the Best N64 Games Eever created.
Customer Rating: Summary: this game is pretty fun Comment: this game is very fun,it is one of the first games i ever played on n64 that and zelda:ocarina of time.Of course zelda:and the ocarina of time was much better though so before you buy this i would by zelda:and the ocarina of time.
Customer Rating: Summary: One of the first great bond games Comment: This game goldeneye was one of the first games ive played when i was little. My siblings don't play it anymore so now its mine
Although it is a nintendo 64 game it is very challenging. O.K. graphics but very very fun. It does also have blood in it. Overall it is a great game. Buy it right now!
Customer Rating: Summary: Why are people still reviewing this? Comment: Ok, this game was good when it was released. It is probabley still better than most shooters today. The game is not that violent, just a typical shooter. The graphics were good at the time. One of the best shooters ever made!

GoldenEye 007 has been a huge success for Rareware, and it's easy to see why. More than a simple movie translation, this has earned its top-seller status on its own. Fans of Doom and Quake will recognize the first-person shooter perspective, but there the similarity ends. James Bond 007 has too much style to simply blast everything in sight and move to the next level. No, as 007, the player has a variety of different missions to perform, each with its own specific objectives. Each mission follows the film closely, and so James must use stealth and cunning as much as brute force. But if you see a Kalashnikov rifle lying around, by all means pick it up. Controls are easy to master, which is impressive considering the variety of actions the onscreen hero can perform. James can run and walk at variable speeds, duck, pivot, hide, attach mines to enemy helicopters, block doors from opening, and more. The optional auto-aim feature is especially nice. Of course, James Bond is proficient in a wide variety of weapons. You get to use them all, from the trusty Walther PPK (with silencer) to double sets of full-auto machine guns. The game's faithful tribute to the Bond legacy includes briefing dossiers on each mission, complete with wisecracks from Q and flirtatious comments from Moneypenny. And the 3-D representation of locations and characters from the movie is very impressive. The Rareware team spent time on the set with digital cameras, and it shows. One of the distinguishing features of the game is the outstanding artificial intelligence of the enemies. When attacked, squads will rush to hit the alarm. If they make it, reinforcements come running. Enemy soldiers respond to being shot or blown up with chilling realism. According to Rareware, there are over 30 different animation routines that come into play, depending on where the soldier is hit. For those who prefer the challenge of human opponents, there are six clever multiplayer modes where up to four players can shoot it out, as teams or solo agents. With excellent gameplay, intelligence, and style, GoldenEye 007 is a first-person shooter that'll keep you coming back for more. --Jeanne Uy Pros: - Built-in save capability for up to 4 players
- Auto-aim feature helps novice players feel like a sharpshooter
- Rich, complex game world filled with detail and variety
- Great bonus missions
Cons: - Sometimes cinematic scenes for fulfilling mission objectives are a bit anticlimactic
