Customer Rating: Summary: Great buy Comment: I bought this to make baby food and it does a great job. So much easier than using my big blender and then having to clean up so much stuff. But yes - that button HURTS. What were they thinking? I use it only for little amounts of food and even then it hurts my finger. Thats why I give this 4 stars only
Customer Rating: Summary: Value for money Comment: Bought this a while ago to blend up my baby's food. This is very good for small portions of food compared to those regular food processor (i've sold it since getting this blender). Cleans easily too (be sure to do so straight after use). Definitely worth every dime.
Customer Rating: Summary: fantastic basic purpose immersion blender Comment: we got this immersion blender because of the price point and we wanted one for soups and baby food. we're very pleased with this blender. it works really well for baby food and is able to blend stuff to the right consistency for our 6 month old baby. our only complaint with it is that after a while your finger hurts holding the "engage" button, as noted by someone else.
other than that one complaint, great immersion blender for twice the price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great! Highly recommend, but... Comment: Don't expect more than basic immersion blender functions! It's one of my favorite gadgets in my kitchen. I use it for pureeing for soups, scrambling larger amounts of eggs so they're light and fluffy, mixing puddings and jello, whipped cream, some less chunky smoothies. I occasionally do mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes, but after butter, milk and whatever other stuff is added and in a deep bowl or can be a mess. Lots of uses!
However, don't expect it to do more hard core kitchen things and replace a blender and/or food processor. It doesn't (effectively IMO) mash up some types of big, chunky fruit especially frozen, chop nuts, certainly not ice! For that stuff you're going to need to spend more than $12.99 and get a wazoo style, more powerful and maybe with attachments.
Serious bang for your buck though! I've had mine for 2 years and have used it a lot!
Customer Rating: Summary: Not good for smoothies Comment: Do not use this blender to chop ice cubes. I tried and it shorted out the motor, tripping the circuit breakers in my house, and does so every time it is plugged in. Works great at blending thin items like soup and protein shakes, but don't use it for thicker items like milk shakes.
