Comment: I bought this for my husband for his birthday. He is very particular and usually likes to pick out his own presents, so I was hoping it would please him. He loves it! Everyone who has seen it loves it and asks where we got it. It also fits in well on our wraparound porch. I bought a cover for it to protect it when not in use. This product is a keeper!

Summary: Some Assembly Requred but MORE than worth it!!!!
Comment: For the last two weekends, we've had two, very large bonfires in our Landmann pit and we LOVE it! In fact, we now sort of wish we'd bought an even larger one. This model is large enough for a crowd of five or six to toast their tootsies and marshmallows at the same time.
The construction seems extremely sturdy - there is a bit of assembly required; the two of us were able to do this in about twenty minutes. The pit itself can easily hold a fairly large pile of kindling and about six 18" to 24" logs easily. Each fire we've had has been at least four hours in duration and we've noticed no burn-through or scorching on the ground underneath the pit.

Comment: We got this for our back patio. It was packaged very well. You have to put the legs and ring around the top on. As others have said the ring had to be manhandled to get it to fit right. I was afraid the whole thing would be kind of flimsy but, it actually pretty well maid. We used it a few times now and fires burn well and complete. We did place a small amount of sand in the bottom as directed in the instructions.
The concrete under the pit got a warm but, not too hot. The poker it comes with is in two pieces and screws together. It's nice and long. It works great for putting the spark shield on and off.
The first time we used the pit it looked like the paint/coating on the inside was burning. The inside is now black but the outside is still the reddish orange color.
We are happy with the purchase.

Comment: After more than a year of use, I can say this pit is excellent. The cutouts are cool and always get comments from guests sitting around the fire; they also provide light and heat. The unit has held up well being left outside and uncovered. Water will collect if you don't cover or drill small drain hole in dished center. High quality materials and workmanship. Excellent design.

Summary: Perfect!!!
Comment: I've been watching this fire pit for months now. Finally, my bfriend surprised me with it and I absolutely LOVE it!! The illumination of the moons and stars are beautiful in the evening! We live in a development where "burning" is prohibited. However, b/c this came with a grill (to cook on) and a screen, we were allowed to use it. It is also very nicely sized. Several people can sit around it. It calls for 5 lbs of sand to be put in the bottom of it before burning. Just a note- we used more than this b/c we felt 5 lbs barely covered the bottom. The sand is used to prevent long term damage from ashes. We also bought the cover advertised with it, to protect from the weather. Just a note on the cover- it can't be latched around the legs with the screen on. Only one latch can be used if the screen isn't taken off. All in all i love the fire pit! I just wish the cover that was advertised with it was a little larger! Also... if you plan on cooking with the fire pit - you need to burn in it 3x's prior to cooking!!
