Comment: Space bags rip sometimes, try this...
Get a trash compactor bag or thick trash bag and a thick, heavy duty rubber band. Put your item in the bag and close the bag with the rubber band circled fairly tight (double or quadruple if necessary) around your bag opening scrunched up around your vacuum hose. It will work the same way as the space bags. The only difference is that there is no one way valve.
When your item is compressed, you have to twist the bag closed tightly below the vacuum nozzle and slide the rubber band over it and tighten the rubber band more in order to make the bag air tight. It takes a little maneuvering to make sure the bag gets sealed off as you pull the vacuum nozzle out, but it only took me a second try to get the hang of it and I'm not especially strong. It works great.

Summary: Great product but a little unsure about the quality.
Comment: I really like these space bags. The combo package is a little restrictive. I recently bought the medium, large, and extra large combo. There is a dotted line that says "do not fill beyond" and I felt that I could and I did but I am afraid to rip the bag. I think once it's rip that's end of your space bag unless you good with a light and decide to melt it back. It really does triple the space. BUY THIS ITEM if you're home is crowded. My house has a basement, a walk in closet downstairs, in my brother's bedroom, my parents have an entire wall for a closet, and i have 2 walk in closets in my own room plus a trundle bed with a pull out drawer large enough for another mattress BUT WE STILL HAVE SO MANY PILLOWS, CLOTHES, and COMFORTERS that the doors can't even close. THESE SPACE BAGS HELPED ALOT!

Summary: really wanted to love them, but can't!!
Comment: I bought these about 3 months ago while i was on business in Florida. I was so excited to get back to the UK and vaccuum pack everything in sight! My excitement turned out to be short lived as only 1 out of the 3 bags worked. I was convinced that I was doing something wrong, but after reading the previous reviews, I now know different.
The customer service is even worse - I called them from the UK about 10 weeks ago, and am still waiting for the replacements to arrive!!
You'll probably still go ahead and buy them just out of curiousity, but I wish I hadn't.

Summary: Shamefully disappointing....(Part 1)
Comment: AS a person with extremely limited space and an unbelievably expansive wardrobe, I could hardly contain my hopeful anticipation over these bags. As soon as I saw the infomercial it became my newest "got-to-have". I bought it directly from the manufacturer's website and even expedited shipping because that's how desperate I am to escape from the clutter of clothes that have exceeded the drawers, a small closet, and 3 off-season extra large storage bins.... So this past Sunday I dedicated the better part of the day to filling the huge storage CUBE with off season clothes. I followed the instructions as I filled the bag, folded all the clothes retail style (very neat and compact), took my time because I'm a bit of a detail obsessor, closed the bag and placed the vacuum hose head to the bag opening, pressed the on button AND..... *Shock* Nothing! I thought that maybe I was doing it wrong so I tried several more times adjusting the position of the bag / nozzle etc. Still nothing. I tried another bag just in case the first one was defective. What I got was the "meat-seal-effect" -- no compression but the free air that was in the empty part of the bag was sucked out to form an uncompressed cube of clothes with plastic around it. Essentially it only compressed the area of the bag that had nothing in it. The pile itself was the exact same size/volume that it had been when I initially packed it. SOOOO DISAPPOINTING. I tried turning off appliances in the house thinking maybe it was sucking some juice away from my power source; I checked the bag to see if it was full, I did everything I could think of to get it to work and still remained unsuccessfully dismayed. I noticed that the hose on my vacuum wasn't large enough to cover the nozzle on the bag, so as not to give up after SEVERAL failed attempts I actually was so desperate that I went to the store to find a cheap vacuum thinking that maybe the newer models have bigger hose heads. Turns out the new hose vacuums have hoses similar to the one I had at home so there was no hope in buying a new vacuum. After an entire days attention, lost time and fruitless effort the only thing I was successful at was creating a nicely folded pile of clothes that I could have done without the cost of a defective product and about $21 worth of shipping. I'll tell you what happened when I called customer service in "Shamefully disappointing....(Part 2)" ...... STAYED TUNED!!!!

Summary: Space Bags
Comment: I've never bought an "as seen on tv" product before, but this one really works! I will be purchasing more! I fit a comforter and feather bed in the extra large. My only complaint is on the picture it looks like it collapses flat, but in reality it's a bit lumpy. Still works good though!
