Summary: My favorite!
Comment: I ate these bars throughout my whole pregnancy and I loved them. They were great when I had junk food cravings and in those "I need to eat NOW" moments. I am breastfeeding my son who is now 2 months old and I still eat these bars all the time when I need a little pick me up between meals. Nursing burns a lot of calories!! I am vegetarian and I love that I'm getting all kinds of good nutrients that I need without any yucky fish oils. The taste is great, rich and chocolaty with toffee bits mixed it. There is actual texture to the bar so it feels like real food, where you actual can identify some of the ingredients like oats, unlike many other power/protein bars that taste like cardboard or chalk and are all chemicals. I love these bars and highly recommend them.

Summary: Great pregnancy snacks
Comment: I've been carrying these around for the past five months of my pregnancy. With not much room in my stomach these days, the bars make a nice hold-over between meals. They're vegetarian and contain many of the nutrients it can be harder for me to get as a vegetarian, including omega-3s (from algae, not fish). The other thing I like about Bellybars is that they're not horribly over sweet. So many granola-type bars try to compensate for the nutritional contents by overloading them with sugar, or fake sugar--even worse. I can't really taste the toffee in these, but the chocolate is enough to make them mighty tasty.

Comment: I was very surprised when I first tried these, because I was expecting delicious chocolate but instead they are somewhat flavorless. Obviously the vitamins are great and needed when you're pregnant-but the taste is bland. Luna bars are much, much tastier.

Summary: Finally, a tasty nutrition bar.
Comment: I had low expectations for this product, having experienced other diet/nutrition bars that were mostly cardboard-flavored or actually painful for my teeth to eat. I purchased one from a maternity store on impulse and on first bite, I was pleasantly surprised. I happily ate the entire thing and could have eaten another. I didn't of course, but was surprised to even consider it...I've only finished the others out of extreme hunger. Understand, this is not a Snickers bar or other super-sweet confection, but the chocolate in it (*gasp*) actually tastes like chocolate and none of the ingredients leave a weird aftertaste. It has a pleasantly chewy texture; think Quaker granola bar but somewhat denser. I've just ordered 2 12-packs on monthly subscription to replace my prenatal vitamin, which makes me violently ill. Highly recommend you taste one before buying a box, but certainly do at least try one.
