Customer Rating: Summary: taken to the cleaners Comment: I ordered a DVD from Americaspawn, when it never arrived I sent them an E Mail which they never responded to. The only thing they can do is take your money!
Customer Rating: Summary: Gettysburg is great, Gods and Generals a bore! Comment: I purchased this set because I had enjoyed the movie Gettysburg very much and was excited to see G&G. What an awful film! The characters do not even talk to each other, just stand around and give speaches. "Oh the horror!"
Customer Rating: Summary: Fnatasitc Book Comment: I'm sure there are many reviews of this book already since it is rather "old". However, I'll add my two cents by adding that it is a great book. It has caused me to read all the other Shaara (both Michael and Jeff) that I can get my hands and eyes on.

Editorial Reviews:

Key battles of America's Civil War thunder across the screen in two richly scaled, rigorously authentic, powerfully compelling epics based on acclaimed historical novels by Michael Shaara. The tide of the war changes during three fierce days of combat at Gettysburg [Disc 1], the gripping saga of the tactics, command errors and sacrifices behind the bloodiest battle ever fought on U.S. soil. Gods and Generals [Disc 2] reveals the spirited allegiances and fierce combat of earlier Civil War struggles, framing its tale with the fateful clashes at Bull Run, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. These sprawling films remind us of the people, passions and heroism that fanned the flames of a country at war with itself.
