Obviously, it certainly grabs your attention though. Upon initial inspection, I thought it hailed from the Revolutionary War but was mistaken. It's actually from the Battle of Gonzales which transpired on October 2, 1835. From what I've read, the battle is now considered to have been the skirmish which marked the beginning of the Texas Revolution. For the American colonists, the incident meant there was no turning back. I like the flag chiefly because it suggests determined defiance and harkens back to a time when there was no political correctness or a cult of enforced sensitivity.
